Country Cafe Diner — Restaurant in Mount Pleasant

This is one of our friend's favorite places- apparently so much that the waitresses already know their order! The portions are HUGE, the prices very reasonable, and the food is just yummy yummy yummy! The crepes were delicious! Definitely will come back when in the area!

Update March 2024:

I have been talking about this place since coming here last January. My husband always looks at me like I am crazy because I go on and on about how yummy the food is here! So, we arrived in town for the Eclipse on Friday and told our friends (who introduced me to this place) that we needed to come here the next morning....and we did. And of course- this place did not disappoint. We had Janeth as our waitress and she was super sweet, she got our orders all correct and that was super impressive considering that all of us added this and that, removed or changed that and this....and she took each of our orders with a smile. This place....gosh if you have the opportunity to come here...take it! The prices are fabulous for the portion sizes and the food is phenomenal!!!! I of course got my crepes (to go) and enjoyed grits and an altered eggs benedict for breakfast at the restaurant. My husband got his usual corned beef hash and our friends always love the platters with sides of biscuits and gravy. The table was completely overflowing with all the food! And you are going to have a wait on a Saturday morning but it is...

Ill start out by saying the restaurant was clean when I walked in, with only like 4 tables filled. So I walk up to the counter to a sign saying wait to be seated. A young lady walks to and ask what can I get for you, Like she didn't just watch me walk in. I get seated and everything is going fine with my order. We'll a group of 5 walk in a couple minutes after me with a teenage special needs kid. The manager ( im guessing) ask my waitress (who only has me as a customer at that moment) to clean off a table so the group can sit down. Shr got snippy with the manager. Well she cleaned the dishes off the table. And while the waitress is taking the dishes to the kitchen the customers sit down. We'll the waitress comes out and gets snippy with the customers and tells them "I was on my to clean the table off so could yall stand up and move so I clean it." Then the waitress goes into the waitress area and the waitress and 3 other waitresses start making fun of the group, even going as far as making hand and face gestures making fun of the special needs child. Having 3 special needs grandchildren myself that was not tolerable. The server in question per the receipt says Chey M and I was at table 10. I don't think I'll be coming back and I will let everyone that I know that atleast that group of servers are not special...

We did breakfast here this morning and it was absolutely wonderful! Yes, we did have a serving hiccup, but that is all that it was - just a blip on an otherwise great breakfast.

My husband ordered the eggs benedict with cheese grits, my son ordered the very berry waffles, I ordered the garden skillet with biscuits and gravy, and we ordered a strawberry French toast to share. Coffee for my husband and me and a lemonade for my son. Typically buying coffee out for me is a miss because it’s normally too weak, but the coffee this morning was great! All of our fruit was super fresh and tasted great. My son, who can be really picky, absolutely loved his waffles. I loved the French toast from the first bite and my skillet was TO DIE FOR (that asparagus tho 🤌🏻). My husband said that his eggs benedict were bland, but loved his grits and the biscuits and gravy that I gave him.

All in all a great breakfast spot and we will definitely go back.

My ONLY real complaint: they need to expand their parking lot - they were a little TOO popular this...
