I too stayed in room 124 and I was woken up at 2:30 in the morning and it never stopped right now. I’m still sitting in my hotel room It’s 9 AM and the people are still stomping and keeping me awake. When I called the front desk at 2:30 AM to tell them that these people have been stomping for over an hour and a half I was told later when I went to the front desk that that’s because they had a broken shower .I read that there was a review and here with the same problem in the same exact room, what’s really terrible is I was already moved from one room because it had a broke refrigerator and a puddle of water on the floor room had a dirty refrigerator. This hotel lacks hospitality I was told that I was rude to the staff when a maintenance man came into my room to look at the TV that has no movie channels and he came over to my bed to grab the remote off of it instead of letting me get it so when I got ready to speak, I wanted to know if I needed to use so I asked him if he spoke English I was told that was being rude to the staff You definitely will not get any sleep at this hotel, the girl that checked me in was very sweet and nice because I did come in very upset and crying because I had had a argument with my husband. I just needed to rest and feel safe but instead I’m exhausted and treated horribly and told that I treated their staff bad and I cussed at their staff first of all, I’m a Christian and I don’t cuss at people, I actually told the front desk while I was getting coffee and they were trying to send a maintenance man to my room which was right down the hall for him not to go in my room. I would be right there and then the people behind the front desk were rolling their eyes and laughing at me. The manager definitely did not have manager qualities even for a three star hotel. I was very surprised that she...
Read moreSo far this hotel has been disappointing. My husband and I just got out of the Marine Corps. I did 9 years and my husband retired at 20. Hampton advertises military discount for active duty, retirees, veterans, and their families. At check in I was asked for my papers. I showed my military ID. I was further questioned for “tax papers” (how can you ask for something you don’t even know what you need?). I let her know I didn’t have any and offered her to remove the discount if she had to. She didn’t know what to do. She pondered and reluctantly said it’s ok for future reference some hotels may not allow me to use the military rate without them. I did not argue and received my keys. She was likely asking for “Orders” which we SOMETIMES receive on active duty depending on what kind of travel it is. As retirees/veterans, we have our IDs. Well, upon coming to the room, there is poop on the toilet and the floor definitely left my sock wet, thermostat works on the 10th time you push the button, bed is hard, and the hotel smell is not pleasant at all. I usually use Hampton, but I will probably not return to the Mount Pleasant, TX one. We have yet to make it to breakfast and I hope it changes my opinion!
Edit: breakfast was ok, not Hampton standards. I ate early then my husband and I brought our kiddos down at 0930. At 0935, my husband grabbed the last of the little eggs that were left. The hostess said, no more eggs sorry. My husband returned and asked if there would be anymore eggs coming out and she became very rude saying it’s too close to closing and she isn’t making anymore! She continued with rude remarks. We made sure to grab everything we needed as she was doing her clean up.
I am honestly surprised by our experience, especially with all of the great reviews. We ended...
Read moreCheck in went well, young lady was pleasant. When walking down 2nd floor hallway, noticed that the carpet had started to "bubble up" in the middle in long parallel lines. You have to walk in different areas to avoid them. Got to our door, and someone apparently used a crowbar, or some other tool to pry it open. Incredibly poor repair done to it. Right at the locking mechanism too. Suite itself was beautiful in layout and furniture. Huge closet, lots of room, which is amazing if staying with kids, lots of mirrors, lamps, two great big windows, a lovely vanity and coffee area, just in general, a great looking suite. Unfortunately, some smallish stains on curtains, grout in bathroom floor and shower tiling cracked, robe hook broken on bathroom door, no functioning bathroom vent. The worst part, was the thin walls. I swear I heard someone sneeze while I was in the elevator between floors, and anytime anyone on the floors above us flushed we could not only hear the toilet, but the water draining down in the pipes in the walls. Same with showers. All night, we hear water, loud. Person directly above us, must've been training for a walking marathon. Until at least 1:30 am, we could hear them pacing. Pace all you want, but I shouldn't be able to hear every step with the floor creaking each time. We stayed in a Hampton Inn in Memphis last night, and then differences between the two were fairly large. Beautiful here to look at, comfy bed, room was clean, but there must be a shortage of good contractors in...
