(Party of 2) We were greeted friendly and seated quick. Once we sat down we waitedā¦and waitedā¦and waited. 20+ minutes go by and 2 different servers walk by and no one even looks at us. There were 3 other tables in our area occupied but it didnāt seem majorly busy. A young gentleman finally came to our table and said he wasnāt our server but he could get us started. When I ordered he told us they no longer have the Buffalo Chicken Mac n Cheese so I asked for a couple more minutes to pick something else. 10 minutes go by and we have to wave down the other server. She approaches our table with no apology that sheās been busy. She takes our order and off she goes. I added a salad to my dinner that I assumed would be brought out BEFORE the hot order. 20 minutes go by and finally she brings the salad with the biscuits and our meals, all together. By the time I finish my salad my other plate is cold. I try to get her attention twice while she was walking by but she never stops. A gentleman at the OTHER table finally tells her Iām trying to get her attention. All I wanted was some dipping sauce for the cold chicken tenders. She did bring us refills without us asking her but instead of taking the empty cups she just moves them out of the way. She never took anything off our tablesā¦empty cups, platesā¦etc⦠We were at a small 2 person table and it was crowded. We noticed when the large table left (8-10 people) the busser immediately went to the table to clean and we counted 35 empty glasses that was still at the table. She walked over to that table quickly and I assumed she would help him but she picked up only her tip money and walked away. She came to our table again with our check and asked if we wanted boxes & a to-go drink. We said yesā¦and once again she just moved stuff around to be able to lay new stuff down. We started to laugh & I seriously was thinking this had to be a prank because it was so unreal. She definitely did not wanna be at work that day! We left and when we paid at the front the cashier lady was very friendly. This was the 1st time weāve never left a tip at any restaurant in 20+ years. (After we left I felt bad that I didnāt leave the busser a tip for his hard work. Iām sure he was the only one to clean our table.) I usually only leave positive reviews but this one definitely needed to be brought to someoneās attention. I left a review from the receipt but it was simple questions that didnāt really give the story of why the review was only 1 star / dis-satisfied. Hopefully something can be done to keep this from happening to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst off, let me say that Iāve visited MANY Cracker Barrel stores all over the United States.. Every single one I have been to has always been on point.
And then thereās this location in Mt. Sterling.. I went here on 2 separate occasions. 11/12 in the evening for dinner, and 11/13 in the morning for breakfast.
Granted, both days were pretty busy at the times that I went so I will not comment on wait times. However, the service was subpar. First day, I received cold loaded tater tots. I received pancakes that I could tell were hot at one point since the butter had melted about halfway down(I know that most all Cracker Barrel serves butter frozen) but it seems as if they sat out in the window to the point where the pancakes were barely warm. I also ordered country fried turkey, server stated that kitchen messed up order. So they had to remake. Once the turkey came out it was dry and over cooked. So I left disappointed.
Second day, went in for breakfast. Ordered egg sandwich with bacon, sausage, and cheese. Bacon was soft(which I prefer) but had what looked to be raw fat that still needed to be cooked longer.. Sandwich was cold to the point that the cheese wasnāt even melting. I also ordered pancakes which came out burnt and were stone cold!
Iām glad to say Iāll be moving to a different town today that has another location that Iāve been to before. Canāt wait for them to offer up some redemption, because Mt. Evans location was a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery crowded. Gift shop employees were not practicing social distancing or enforcing mask wearing of guests entering and leaving the building. They were grouped together by the front door remerchandising and pretending not so see the people not wearing masks (looking at them, then looking away). Not to mention we were waiting for over an hour for a table. I felt like the gift shop manager on duty was being passive aggressive with us after we asked the hostess about mask policy and if they were enforcing it (after seeing over 6 peiple come or go with no mask in a 15-20 minute time frame). There were signs on the inside and outside of the front doors AND an A-frame sign outside the entrance stating guests MUST wear masks inside.
When you're eating at your table, by all means enjoy your meal mask free. But when you're waiting, wandering around the gift shop and walking through the dining room, please be considerate of the other diners and wear a mask! No one wants to wear them, but it's about being respectful of the folks around you to wear your mask over your mouth AND nose.
The service was okay. Some of our food was wrong. Our server was very nice and had it corrected for us. Some of the other items we ordered were cold or only luke warm, but we didn't send that back because we didn't want to keep complaining. If we hadn't been there with family for a birthday brunch, I wouldn't have stayed...
