Was staying at the hotel in which this restaurant belongs to, and decided to dine here for the convenience as there aren't too many other dinner options nearby, or would require a bit of a drive to get to. It was rather quiet and empty on a Monday night, and so we were seated promptly.

My partner and I ordered the wagyu tartare, paella, and flan for dessert. I can't in all honesty say that I recommend these dishes. I felt like each fell short of the price it was set at.

The tartare wasn't anything special or notable--portion was a bit small, traditionally flavored with mustard, capers, and served with an egg yolk brushed sesame cracker that didn't hold its crisp well, and went soggy because of the egg yolk.

Paella was a bit odd to me--I haven't had a paella made with pasta noodles before, but wasn't a fan of the texture or the flavoring/seasoning--it was very sweet and bland. The shrimps in this paella were good though! I wish there was just more flavor, acidity, depth, umami to the dish as a whole.

Flan was dense and almost chewy? I haven't had this texture in flan before. The caramel was very bitter.

Service was great though--servers were friendly and quick to change out silverware and plates in between...

Hotel Dining

There have been a smattering of modern luxury hotels opening on the Peninsula including the Ameswell, The Park James, Hotel Citrine, Nobu Hotel and now the Shashi Hotel

As business and leisure travel slowly ramps up, these hotels may be preparing for an increase in visitors locally but also have covered their bases with new bars and restaurant offerings for locals

We stopped by Broma, the newest restaurant at the Shashi Hotel. The chef formerly headed Michelin star Chez TJ and now has opened this Spanish Portuguese spot that offers both prix fixe and a la carte options

We stopped by for drinks and small bites and found an elevated ambiance with tasty entrees and refreshing drinks

We especially loved the dessert and the oysters were ultra fresh

📷 Market Oysters $24 half dozen, mignonette, cocktail sauce / Alentejo Pork Cheeks and Clams $32 tahini, tzatiki, herb oil / Pistachio Tartlet $14 ~ pistachio praline, ginger, cardamon

Dine with me at one of the most beautiful restaurants in th Bay Area @bromamv offers guests a dining experience like no other. This spot is right in the heart of Mountain View located at the beautiful @shashi_hotel. Stepping into this restaurant and trying their incredibly delicious food, totally transported me to Spain. Their menu is inspired by Spanish cuisine as well as other regional influences. And the each and every dish made here has the most breathtaking gorgeous presentation, bold and diverse flavors, making this spot unlike any other. I was even lucky enough to speak with Bromas head chef, Chef Aubree, a talented and passionate chef, driven to her passion for cooking. And after receiving a behind the scenes insight how each dish is prepared I honestly so impressed with the thought and peesion going into making each item. Everything on the menu is made with such attention to detail from the selection of ingredients, cooking techniques, and presentational styling. They craft their dishes with finest ingredients either all locally sourced or brought in from abroad. And after being able to try a wide selection of dishes I can confirm @bromamv definitely is well worth a visit!! Thank you @bromamv for the invite #broma #spanishfood #foodie #yummy #bestfood #musttry #bayareafood #bayareafoodie

Fantastic little dining spot. We had a nice intimate table for six people and we were never wanting for anything except more delicious food. All the dishes were amazing and we just wish that we had enough steak to go around the table for six people. We had the tasting menu and were completely full before the final two dishes came out and dessert. It was weird that for our party of six we had two of every dish, except for when the steak came out and there’s only one steak. That was the one dish we could’ve really used two of. The chocolate mousse you can also see look like someone took a bite out of it instead of just being the whole plate. Overall, it was a wonderful menu and a wonderful tasting and we would definitely come back, but probably stick to the muscles and the steak.
