The definition of a captive audience, but it delivers on expectations.
The sports page is a good watering hole in three instances:
You are attending a nearby concert at shoreline. They are consistently packed on concert nights, which makes for a great place to meet other who share your taste in music. Bar service is surprisingly efficient at peak hours, I'd estimate a 10-15 minute wait tops for drinks, seating however becomes another story Sorry about the traffic
You either work for or are visiting someone who works at Google. This is the most proximate establishment to the biggest search engine in the world, but there are much better options across 101. Despite this the Sports Page offers reasonable drink prices
You are a beach volleyball or trivia devotee. Admittedly that's quite an idiosyncratic combination, but they have a beach pit that you can reserve. Good for team bonding Trivia is on Thursdays and is relatively competitive with a substantial turnout, except for the three weeks a year when the weather sucks here.
Pro-tips: Don't order from the kitchen, it's your basic fried food variety and is broadly mediocre Instead, patronize the adjacent Sushi and Persian offerings Properly hydrate before going to a concert if you're drinking. That's just a life tip for everyone
Bang for buck you'll be satisfied, except when it comes to the...
Read moreI can't speak to this place outside the context of work happy hours, but Sports Page (aka Googleplex Building 50) is a decent place to get together w/ some colleagues for a pitcher or to watch sports because you live in SF and would otherwise miss half the game due to your commute.
The good: reasonably priced solid bar food selection good seating (kind of small inside, especially if you want a table, but they have a big patio with heaters) pretty large beer selection for as divey as it is lot of TVs
The bad: FULL of silicon valley employees during the week; most people are still wearing work badges and probably even tried to swipe into the place (we are awkward...) can get really crowded on Thursdays during Noogler happy hour the interior is sort of reminiscent from something that would be like on the set of That 70s Show parking is not great
The ugly: the bathroom (women's at least...) leaves a LOT...
Read moreGreat location to Shoreline Amphitheater. I did not eat here because the group I was with didn't approve of their orders including one who sent his order back to order something else. I was going to try when I went to the bar and ordered my drink. I asked the bartender what his favorite was on the menu and with hesitation and not immediately replying he told me the item that my friend had ordered and had just sent back. I decided to hold off. A gentleman had a menu near me and ask if he had eaten here before. He said yes, his first time on this date. He mentioned his multiple choices but only said it was ok. My cocktail was great, but I chose to wait until I got to the venue at Shoreline Amphitheater for a wonderful food truck called Gorilla Grills, Fried Chicken Parmisian Sandwich. This place has great outdoor seating area and was busy prior to the concert, staff was...
