Oak Trail Taphouse — Restaurant in Mundelein

Guys, if U ever appear at Mundelein, feeling tired, exhausted, need to relax, or just decide to hangout, - that's the BEST place to do that, trust me! Although there are other bars, restaurants, e.t.c. in the area, this one is just unique! First of all, they have a GREAT choice of beers and other different spirits, that I couldn't find anywhere else around. U can always ask Bartender to make a shake of whatever u want!.(By the way, the staff is VERY Friendly). Same thing with snacks! And prices DO NOT "Bite" at all! Also live music can often be heard there, as amateur musicians are free to bring their instruments and express themselves via music! ) Of course, slot machines also present, but I didn't try them yet) What also impressed me a lot, is that they managed to place a pool table in there, so u can enjoy the whole atmosphere, while playing billiards! And of course, talking about parking, - there's plenty of room to park a vehicle. Went to this bar not looking for trouble at all. They don’t have security here so the only people who are able to deal with heated situations are the male bartenders and they are “hotheads”. I had 2 beers along with my friend no where near drunk or anything of that sort and the male bartenders legit picked a fight with my friend and I; I wasnt apart of the “argument” but when we were asked to leave we gladly walked to the door but before we got there, me (who exchanged pretty much zero words with the employees) gets repeatedly shoved in the back. And the next thing you know I’m in a bar fight for the first time ever. Neither my friend or I were the aggressors in this situation they repeatedly got into my friend’s face, i told them 2 times that “this was a misunderstanding”, however the employees didn’t care they were looking to fight while my friend and I were not. Had a great experience at Oak Trail Taphouse with my wife and son Saturday late afternoon. The place had a great vibe, excellent whiskey and beer selections, and our food was fantastic (cheese curds, brisket poutine, spicy chicken sandwich, and salted bourbon caramel cheesecake).

We are new to the area, and had plenty of questions about the wide variety of options available . Atzi (bartender) was very patient and knowledgeable… answering all of our questions and helping make quality recommendations that were truly spot on and helpful. She was amazing and even managed to float around to surrounding tables to inquire about the needs of patrons there as well. Couldn’t recommend her highly enough, the customer service really made our experience noteworthy.

Being newer to the area, we hadn’t found “our place” to frequent that we felt really confident in that is really good fit… now we have!...
