Lovely, quiet cafe with delicious, quintessential French classics. The menu selection featured a wide range of items- from French Onion soup and various French salads, to savory crepes, omelettes, quiches, and sandwiches. I wanted to try it all. Heartier entrees like the Chicken Cordon Bleu, Scallops & Shrimp, or Steak & Fries would make for a satisfying dinner choice, but I went for lunchtime. I appreciate that they feature such a wide selection for any time of day! My almond croissant was out of this world- flaky, buttery, and toasted just right with perfect almond filling and sliced almonds all over the place. Tres délicieux. There are more freshly baked pastries on site for purchase like cookies and doughnuts. They will sell Kings Cakes for Mardi Gras/Fat Tuesday coming up next week, as well as Paczki's (Polish doughnuts filled with fruit preserves dusted in sugar) for a limited time. Call and ask if you are interested in purchasing- I didn't get a chance to take a photo of the sign. My cappuccino was excellent in every way. I also ordered a Croque Monsieur- a creamy ham and Swiss cheese sandwich on homemade buttery bread- that was supposed to come with fries, but unfortunately they were cleaning their deep fryer and couldn't make fries. No problem! Instead, I went with buttery mashed potatoes which were an excellent alternative. Everything was perfectly proportionate and wholesome. I just wanted to enjoy my food, so I didn't take a photo of my sandwich. The staff were helpful, attentive, and kind. The vibe was low-key, relaxed, and quiet for a weekend lunch. Diners included a few couples, one big family, and lots of walk-ins picking up pastries. There is a gigantic eiffel tower (bottom half) in the middle of the restaurant which adds to the unique atmosphere of this cafe/ restaurant. I wonder how difficult it was to construct? I saw a second dining room, possibly for when it gets busier during evening hours. I can't wait to visit again when it...
Read moreHow is it possible that we’d never eaten here before?!?? We’d enjoyed their chocolate croissants before but had never had a full breakfast. After some friends recommended it, we decided to give it a go.
Ours was a party of 5 and we were seated, at our request, in one of the outdoor mini-greenhouses they’ve installed due to Covid. The mini-greenhouse feels like a very clever and on-brand solution to enable outdoor dining and it worked well for our party of 5. Note: they are also open, currently, for indoor dining.
I had the Eggs Benedict served on a croissant with potatoes on the side — which was fantastic. The poached eggs, Hollandaise sauce, ham and croissant were wonderfully balanced. The potatoes provided a great side - crisp, appropriately salty and all-around yummy.
My wife had a Brie and green onion omelet which was also great. We also tried their quiche of the day, which was very good. Our kids were with us, so we also had a taste of the chocolate croissant (which our 2 year old is now calling “chocolate burger!”), the cinnamon-raisin French toast (daily special) and the Nutella and banana crepes — all were really great.
The coffee was hot/tasty and the service was prompt and friendly. We left satisfied, making plans to come back for breakfast with the family and wondering if their dinner menu can possibly be this good!
As an aside: this breakfast, which was enough food for 5, including sides, drinks and tax was less than $100. Highly recommended!
Update: I have now eaten at Taste of Paris for breakfast at least a dozen times, with parties as small as 5 and as large as 12. I have yet to have a meal that I didn’t thoroughly enjoy. Chef Claude and his team are doing it right — every time. We love...
Read moreMy family and I came in this morning to eat breakfast here. We waited for longer than expected to place our order. After waiting for our food to come, the waitress tells us that she is sorry about the wait and our food will be up next. Then, our waitress tells the same thing about 20 mins later. Our food isn't out yet.
At this point, my family and I were frustrated when we saw people who sat next to us and got their food, and the people at this table came in much later.
We got up and told them to cancel our order that we had been waiting for more than 50 minutes for our food. There weren't even a lot of people there when we got there.
When we told our waitress that we were leaving and canceling our order. The waitress told us that she thanked us for being patient. She didn't even apologize. My mother told them that we would pay for the coffee, lemonade, and cookies from their bakery. The waitress or restaurant staff didn't offer to comp the coffee, lemonade, and cookies for all the time we waited. You would think the waitress or the manager would comp for our coffee, lemonade, and cookies, but they didn't. The manager didn't help at all with this situation. Then, the waitress charged my mother for the whole bill. My mother said that she isn't paying for the whole bill because we didn't eat any of the food that was ordered. A different employee voided the previous transaction, and we paid for what we ate.
My parents wanted to take us here for breakfast, and we will never be coming back again. We are dissatisfied with the service of this restaurant. Lastly, we felt...
