Tina G’s is the kinda place you need to end your workweek, celebrate a moment or if you just need a lift. The delightful patio is comfy and esthetically pleasing despite the fact it’s on a street next to a somewhat busy thoroughfare. Your delight starts with a server like Marco with his effective delivery of the daily special details and with his kind demeanor. We enjoyed a couple of those specials( pics of sole and pork shanks) and the yummy grilled calamari appetizer. The “ circus” surrounding the patio of a neighboring restaurant and open mic Friday night music added to our dining pleasure. Our people watching showed us how the owner Tina and manager engaged in such a community friendly manner that was refreshingly charming. Marco was an efficient and caring server who delivered a yummy dinner so kudos to him and his manager on setting great standards. Overall - you can’t miss enjoying a meal at Tina G’s.

Just moved to the area and decided to try this gem based off former reviews. It didn’t disappoint! Food was super good and very well prepared for a family owned place. Prices are great for what you get also. The atmosphere and our server, Eva, made our night much better as she knew the menu. We got the Chicken Marsala, Steak Cognac, Bruschetta and Calamri. The red velvet cake was complimentary for our anniversary which we loved. We will definitely be back many times over and looking forward to trying something different next time.

A nice casual/fancy Italian place. Always easy to go to because it’s never crazy busy but never quiet. The mood is so nice and warm, Tina G’s always welcomes you into their abode. The food is fantastic, I had a delicious Gnocchi, which was well made in a fantastic crème sauce. I highly recommend it. However, it was a special order- I had them switch the bow tie pasta from the original to gnocchi. The peas were not over cooked, but weren’t too al dente either.

venue was ok, but that's the only thing that was. would not go back. was my first time there yesterday and with a large group (12). Arrived 3pm. Service was ok at best. not good. Food was ok at best, not good. I talked with everyone in our group. they all agreed. first thing that annoyed me was they use "padded - cushioned" table tops at this place, with a white table cloth on top. Talk about stupid. everybody knows you don't do that because the surface is soft and unstable for drinks. as soon as I took a drink from my glass of water and set it down, it nearly fell over because of the soft cushioned table top not being able to properly stabilize the glass and the glasses they used were narrow and not appropriate for a cushioned table top. All other guests had the same problem. I knew something was going to spill. sure enough - about 5 minutes in, we had our first spill. On top of that, our server who was not good, and clumsy as they come, knocked over a glass of wine from a person sitting across from me, while she was handing her food. The wine spilled on a couple of us. She also nearly knocked over my glass of water as well, but I was paying close attention to it and actually caught the glass before it fell over. had she not been in such a hurry and clumsy this could have been avoided. the menu was "weird". it was like a bar menu with sandwiches and also an Italian menu. who does that? Is the theme "american" or "italian"? who the heck knows. Grilled chicken sandwiches served without mayo on them and no mayo on the side. no other dressing on the sandwich. very dry. Reuben sandwich not good. my penne sausage dish was ok at best. sausage was fatty. they served my grandson (age 6) a giant bowl of spaghetti and meatballs with no plate. we had to ask for a plate. the server had no clue how kids eat. the meatballs were "tough". very disappointing. I was told the fries were "amazing". we ordered some. they weren't. Just regular fries. they served them on a flat cold plate. you would think if someone ordered just fries, that they would serve them in a basket with a cloth or some fancy container, not a flat white dish plate. needless to say - they got cold in 2-3 minutes, and were nothing special. there were so many little things that were "annoying" about our visit that I cannot discuss them all - as I have better things to do. I'm sure they have a few "friends" and a small group of "locals" that frequent place, but once was enough for me. I won't...

From the moment we stepped into Tina G's Italian Restaurant in Mundelein, we knew we were in for something truly special. But what we experienced far exceeded our wildest expectations! We booked Tina G's for a private party of 70 people, a daunting task for any restaurant, and they handled it with absolute grace and perfection.

Let's start with Phil, the owner. He was an absolute dream to work with. From the initial planning stages to the final farewell, Phil was attentive, accommodating, and genuinely passionate about ensuring our event was a resounding success. His dedication and personal touch were evident in every detail, and he made us feel like family. He went above and beyond to tailor the experience to our specific needs, and his expertise was invaluable.

Now, let's talk about the food! Oh, the food! Every dish was a masterpiece, a testament to authentic Italian cuisine. From the perfectly cooked pasta to the savory sauces and delectable appetizers, our guests were raving about the quality and flavor. The portions were generous, and the ingredients were clearly fresh and high-quality. You could taste the passion in every bite. It was a culinary journey that left everyone completely satisfied and wanting more.

The wait staff was equally exceptional. They were professional, friendly, and incredibly efficient. Despite the large size of our party, they managed to serve everyone promptly and with a smile. Their attention to detail was impeccable, and they anticipated our needs before we even asked. They created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that contributed to the overall enjoyment of the evening.

The restaurant itself was transformed into the perfect setting for our private event. Tina G's effortlessly accommodated our large group, creating a comfortable and elegant atmosphere. The ambiance was warm and inviting, perfect for celebrating with friends and family.

In short, our experience at Tina G's was nothing short of phenomenal. Phil and his incredible team exceeded our expectations in every way. The food was divine, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was perfect. If you're looking for an authentic Italian dining experience in Mundelein, or if you're planning a private event, look no further than Tina G's. You won't be disappointed. We can't wait to return and create more...

I can't say enough good things about this place. The food is always amazing and we never leave hungry. Service has always been on point, with Hannah being our fave server.

Here's what blew me away about this place...the second time we were there, the owner (Tina) was walking around and asking folks how their meals were. She came to our table and we all introduced ourselves, and I asked her to compliment the chef on the special I had ordered...bacon wrapped scallops. The bacon was perfectly crispy without overcooking the scallops, which is no easy feat! They. Were. Perfect.

After a few minutes of friendly conversation, she thanked us for our kind words and moved along throughout the restaurant, doing what she does so well...creating bonds and connections with her customers.

Six months later we happened to see her again - we had been there more often, just never had an opportunity to see her. When she came around to check in on her customers, as is her custom, she actually remembered us and how much we loved those scallops! I was floored...it was a less than five minute conversation, one which she has countless times a night, every night she is there, and she remembered us?

We told her we were a little bummed, because we had hoped to see it on the specials menu, and you want to know what she said? You won't believe it...she said, "Next time you know you'll be coming, call a few days in advance and I'll make sure to order some in, so you can have them."

WHAT? When have you ever heard of that kind of customer service in this day and age...or any day and age? In that moment, I became a fan for life, and thankfully, that's not hard to do, because the place is always clean and comfortable, the service impeccable, and the food, well the food is what we crave, so that's an easy one.

If you're looking for a handsomely outfitted restaurant with great food, tasty cocktails, impeccable service, and an owner that really wants to give you an excellent dining experience...without mortgaging your house to do it...Tina G's in Mundelein is where you'll want to...
