Camino Real - Memorial — Restaurant in Murfreesboro

I would like to start by saying my husband and I are Camino Real patrons specifically at this location. We frequent this restaurant at least twice a week because we love the food and the service. Sometimes we dine in and recently have been picking up to go orders. Most of the time we have the best service even when there are mistakes made e.i tomatoes left in my fajita nachos when I requested no tomatoes not a big deal I’ll look past it people make mistakes still love the food. But this evening when we placed our routine to go order my husband went to pick it up we brought it back home and went opening our cheese dip there was a large clump of black hair in the middle of the cheese dip. Called the restaurant to have our order replaced as we had both ordered nachos and a burrito and by the time we were done dealing with the hair in our queso our food was cold. The manager refused to replace our orders even when we sent back our food and did not want to keep it and demanded that he see the cheese and not just the pictures we had taken. I tried to explain that we had poured it out trying to find the rest of the hair so we can document it because it was lost in a large container of queso. My husband again went back to the restaurant with the empty container of queso in the pictures we had taken- I called the restaurant and explain to them that we spend a considerable amount of money at their establishment and never really have an issue other than the occasional flat Coke which is no big deal and that we wouldn’t just be making this up to get free food we even sent back food because we’re not trying to keep something like that. Long story short if you’ve made it this far - The manager that fought so hard not to replace our meal had to eat crow once he saw there was in fact black clumps of hair in our queso. This was our first time eating at this location. Where to start? It was all amazing, so here goes. We were greeted with warm smiles and menus, got seated at an amazing booth, large and comfy for us 3. Started with queso and chips and salsa, yummy to all. Then came the food, I had the Chili Colorado and an a la Carte taco. It was amazing! Spiced to perfection and the beans and rice so authentic. My husband had the chimichanga and our grand daughter had the fajita bowl. We also ordered guacamole,and it was fabulous also. The beautifully painted murals and vibrant colors gave off the vibe of old town Mexico for me! But the best part was our server! Angel, he was so on point, we not once had to ask for more drinks, he had new ones right when it was almost empty glasses. Warm fresh chips and salsa were also brought and filled without asking either. That is the sign of an excellent waiter! You should not have to ask for refills or top offs, he was on it all night! The place was packed from the time we arrived at 5pm on Wed, and even more packed when we left. But the manager and the attentive wait staff, along with the fast and accurately skilled bus boys cleaning the tables at lighting speed, It all runs like a well oiled machine! What a great find for us, as we have been looking for a Mexican restaurant to put on our bi weekly food destinations, as we tend to dine out alot due to our schedules. So I am claiming Camino Real Mexican restaurant in Murfreesboro as our top pick in our book of FAVORITE places to eat in the Boro! If i could give this restaurant a zero i would! I have been coming to this restaruant since i opened i get the same exact thing every time... Pollo Loco but with steak and lettuce on the side! a kids meal for my son.. You would think this was an easy fix but apparently to these people it absolutely can not be done. last Tuesday I was fed up. i brought company from out of town and i always get the same server who never fills our drinks, he never, in the last 10x i visited never brings lettuce until im about to get my check and never brings corn tortillas even though i repeatedly ask several times! He brought me flour tortillas four times before i decided to eat my meal with chips. My son got NO chicken tenders with his fries, even after we asked for the chicken tender we never got them. same with my friend with her twins they got chcicken tender kid's meal but no tenders. server said nothing and walked off. We gave him three chances to correct this problem and became annoyed and he rolled his eyes at us! We asked for the manager who repeatedly said it wasnt his fault, it was the kitchen.. but come on, no sympathy for our kids who were forgotten about? No sympathy for us or even an apology? We were offered the food again and it was brought out for one child and we decided we were not going to pay for kid's meals due to being incomplete. We will never be back! All i got to say is if i was a server and my money is getting messaed with, i would let the kitchen know. My son's birthday lunch was ruined. Stay away from this crappy mexican restaurant.
