Love the pizza and the majority of the people that work there. The general manager is always very friendly. Well today is New Years Eve. I called to verify their hours and make sure they weren't closing early. Andrew asked me if my order was for pickup and I said no I just need your hours. I hung up and then ordered online so I could view the menu. When Andrew got here he was being extremely hostile. He asked, "Are you the one who just called to ask the time and then immediately ordered online. I smiled and said yes thinking he was making a joke. He wasn't. He told me, " The reason I asked you if your order was for pickup was because we don't have a delivery driver and I am the shift leader. Because of you I had to leave a new hire by himself at the store." I told him, I was sorry I didn't know. He said in a rude sarcastic voice, "Well,I hope you enjoy your food. Have a good day." Now keep in mind I live with 4 different people and all together we probably order Hungry Howies 3 times or more a week. I am always friendly and tip well. They know my sister by name. I guess because he asked me if the order was for pickup I should have used my mind reading powers to understand that this meant no delivery. Either way I have worked in food a long time and would never speak to a customer like this. He should have called and explained the situation and either refunded my money or I could have come and picked it up. I am a reasonable person who understands that things like this happen and wouldn't get mad. I think the worst part is he treated me like some jerk who was trying to trick him into delivering food when they weren't able too. That definitely wasn't my intention. I'm sorry Hungry Howies but I will not be ordering from here again. I was so upset I couldn't even eat the food I paid $20 plus a tip for and since I'm still thinking about it I guess it ruined my day too. I'll...
Read moreNot the type of pizza I would order again.
The pizza sauce is watery and on the sweet side. Too sweet for my taste buds.
The cheesy bread was soaked in grease. The bottom of the box was soggy and the paper inside was completely transparent from all the grease.
Maybe there's some super delicious combination between toppings and crust flavorings that brings Howies to the top of the charts, but I didn't discover it. What we ordered was very lackluster. Hard and dry dough. The crust was almost flavorless even tho we tried some of the flavored crusts.
I will say that Howies delivers on their salads. Very full and filled to the top of the container. Nice and fresh. Crisp. The salads were the best part.
I hate giving such a low score, but these reviews are of personal preference. For me, Howies lacks in many categories. From reading other reviews, plenty of people love this place. Maybe I'm missing something here or maybe I received a dud. Either way, I doubt I'll give Howies another shot.
Pizza sauce is way too sweet. The dough has no personality. Dry and forgettable. Way too much grease, even by...
Read moreYesterday, September 27th, I placed an online order at 6:00 and arrived to the restaurant around 6:20 (as the app showed that my order was being made and was almost done). There was a lot going on in the restaurant (an employee had passed out), so they were short an employee. Understandable why they would be a little behind as chaotic as things were. I was patiently waiting, but once 45 minutes had gone by I was getting a little agitated with having to wait as long as I had to. I had placed the order 45 minutes ago and was still waiting. I only ordered two one topping pizzas and howie bread. My app had showed that it was ready for 10-15 minutes before an employee had actually spoken to me. While I was standing there waiting the phones were ringing and the employees were saying “do not answer those phones, we cannot take anymore orders right now.” It took over an hour to get my order. Extremely disappointed. Employees were not friendly and let the pressure get to them a little too much where they were coming off rude and...
