An incredible restaurant that is barely 2 months old. My wife had heard good things about this Korean restaurant, and on a whim, craving soup, we decided to come in.
The first thing we noticed upon approaching the restaurant was how nice it looks. The outdoor area, which is a room with multiple big windows and a great ambiance, was extremely well decorated. We decided to eat indoors, and we were pleasantly surprised to see how well decorated the inside is as well. I wish I had taken pictures of the interior, but readers will have to take my word for it and go check it out themselves.
We arrived about an hour before closing, and we had just come in after a huge crowd of people had left, so we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Which is nice, but honestly, I would rather see more people give this place a chance and have it be packed.
We were given amazing customer service by Heidi, who I presume is the owner or one of the owners of the restaurant. She was wonderful to talk to and very kind. She helped us decide what to choose and was very patient, especially because my wife and I are not very familiar with Korean food.
We ended up picking Kalbi Tang and Yukka Jang. And I must say, they were both fantastic. The portion sizes were huge, so make sure to have a great appetite when you plan to go. The prices are also very fair for what you get! The sides for the main course were also fantastic.
All in all, I have to say that from first visual impressions, to customer service, to our first time trying these Korean dishes, this place is a 10/10. I would highly recommend it, especially for those who are looking for something different or if you’re looking to take that special someone on...
Read moreOverview: If you love Korean food, love simple menus, and are looking for something more modern, this is the place for you. I loved the food, presentation, and the theme, but wished there was more ambience and music.
Pros: Flavorful food, elegant yet representative food presentation of the culture, and a simple menu.
Cons: Price (for those that prefer lower prices) and no background music.
Quick note - I did come when they weren’t so busy, so I cannot give an accurate review on sitting or food wait time.
I am absolutely surprised that not enough people have stopped by here yet. The food was flavorful. The presentation was elegant; had height; had color; and the portion sizes were perfect (not too big nor too small). The price was high, but you get what you pay for.
The menu was simple for those who get overwhelmed with too many choices.
I had the Tteokbokki, Sea Symphony Kal-Kuksu, Very Berry Garden (Blackberry penna cotta), and a lychee martini. The tteokbokki was more savory and spicy (which I prefer) for those who are not a fan of those flavors.
I loved how they picked a theme, Korean fusion, and stuck with it. My server, Tristan, although quiet, was very attentive to my needs. He checked on me often. One of my spoons had dried liquid on it, and Tristan was quick to replace that.
My suggestions: Play a little background music. I say this because I am a single diner and often will not have someone with me to fill the silence. Provide chopsticks. This is not needed, but preferred. I was bit disappointed that I didn’t get any. Chopsticks often help me slow down and savor the food and the moment, and since that is what they are aiming for, I don’t think it would be a...
Read moreSo the concept is really cute, but it is definitely not executed well. the server Had no knowledge of any of the menu items at all, and the menu was outdated. The steak said it was going to be served crispy potatoes, but apparently you get a seasonal vegetable instead. The server said she just forgot…, And also forgot to give us water cups. I had to ask TWICE. The food was mediocre at best. Scallops were rubbery, server had no idea what cut the steak was, which is just insane. I’ve worked in the surface industry. And if you don’t know what you’re serving. You should not be serving it. I get it a new restaurant and it has its kinks, but she literally had no clue about anything. when I’m spending over $200. I want to know what I’m being served whether it’s a strip or a ribeye, potatoes...
