Koji Express Japanese Grill - South — Restaurant in Murfreesboro

Asked for steak and mushrooms with carrots and fried rice and they pressed no fried rice. Came home and saw this. Who just orders the toppings with no rice at all, like not even white rice? The bag was all wet because there was no rice to soak up the juice and I don’t live close by this location to just go back in one night! I was on the way home from work and just grabbed dinner. Was very disappointed when I got home. I called the location to see if they would be able to give me a CORRECT meal on my next visit and they only told me to come back (that same night only) to get a side of rice but I explained that I don’t live close by! Then they offered 10% on my next order… I spent $21 on what is pictured. That’s $2 off my next order…. Ridiculous. Terrible customer service....

Apparently we're in a steak/chicken famine & I didn't realize it. I'm pretty sure I've seen more meat in a bowl of stew than what you get at this place. This used to be my wife and I's favorite restaurant in Murfreesboro and we would drive up every Saturday for a to-go order of their steak & chicken hibachi. The prices kept going up, but I understood that supply costs are increasing (as are wages) so it wasn't a huge problem...but as of the past year, the amount of meat you get is half of what you used to get. That's not exaggeration, it's approx 50%-60%. You're basically buying a bowl of rice & veggies that have been cooked in the vicinity of beef. We're going to give it one final chance this weekend...unless we get a reasonable portion of steak/chicken then we'll...

To say our meals were a disappointment is an understatement. Was told I could not substitute carrots for other vegetables and the amount of chicken was enough to feed a toddler. The broccoli looked and tasted like it was cooked with a blowtorch (had to throw it out). Management gave a refund which I'm happy about and explained that the company changed its portions and substitutes. This LOCAL restaurant should read the comments/ reviews or it will be like the rest of the disappointing restraunts in Murfreesboro... $12 for a 1/4 cup of chicken and chared broccoli and rice is a joke and I honestly feel bad for the shift Management having to deal with unhappy customers. The owner of that company should know that people don't like getting ripped off when they order...
