Oscar's Taco Shop — Restaurant in Murfreesboro

I'm so disappointed 😞 this was our go to restaurant. I grew up in the southwest and grew up with authentic Mexican food and this location was always kind of nostalgic. We always did order pick ups and when we got the food home it was always so worth the wait to get home. But today, we did our usual order pickup, I ordered a enchilada and a burrito. The burrito was completely wrong, not sure what meat it was but from the one bite I took it wasn't what I ordered. I said no problem, I'll just eat my enchilada with the beans and rice which that alone would be enough food. When I opened it I noticed it looked kinda misshapen and weird. I took a small bite of the end and it was off. I started to move the sour cream and lettuce and there was nothing under there? The tortilla was dissolved. There wasn't anything really there. It seemed like someone ate most of it and they tried to cover it up. I tried to call and ask for maybe a refund on at least this portion of the 70 dollar order with a 15% tip but they said I had to drive back to show the cook. When I got there they acted like they didn't want to deal with me and would barely let me explain. Not only was I served possibly partially eaten or even old food but now I've been made to feel embarrassed and like they didn't even believe me. I can never go back here again and will try to convince anyone I know to not come to this location. I know that seems extreme but I can't believe this whole situation. I'm very disappointed, shaking, upset and nauseous. Appetite is completely gone. My husband couldn't even finish his food because he was so upset about it. Very poor...

The customer service here is absolutely ridiculous. We come here frequently since it is so close to where we live and the food is usually pretty good. The past times that we have done orders, we have done delivery and both times they don't bring the drinks. We do combos so that we can get the drinks included. The second time, we called to let them know and they basically told us that it wasn't their problem. They wouldn't do a refund since they said that they give the drinks complimentary, which is an absolute lie. Why would we upgrade our order to a combo for the drink if they were complimentary? Why aren't they giving drinks with every single order if they are complimentary? The many times before that when I went in person to order, they messed it up every single time. They have never apologized a single one of those times, even when they once double charged me for a meal and gave me hard time about refunding it. I even reached out to customer service that time as well and didn't receive an apology from them either. I was only asked what store it was and that was it. I went in on one occasion and there were 5 people behind the counter and not a single person looked up to acknowledge me or say they would be with me in a few minutes. I waited right in front of them for almost 10 minutes without a single word or nod my way. We keep giving them the benefit of the doubt but it has gotten to the point that the stress and money lost isn't worth the convenience. The food isn't as good as used to be anyway, so it won't be hard never coming...

This Oscar's location is great, like the other ones nearby in the 'Boro or Smyrna. I would give those locations 5 stars, easily. I cannot give this one 5 stars, however, because of the ridiculous parking situation and for the weird septic issues that they appear to have. The smell was pretty rough a month or two ago, and it's only gotten tolerable since. Not sure what's been going on, but maybe it's something they can't help. My biggest issue is with the parking. Even a mid-size truck like mine is difficult to park there(if there's an open space to park). Unfortunately, I don't think there's a solution to this for Oscar's besides moving to another location. I see people park next door at the cleaners, but man, it's got to piss them off because their parking is even more limited!! I often wonder why they don't reopen the existing drive thru for their building, back when it was a donut shop, as it would help the parking situation. Aside from the annoyances, the food is consistently great. It's the same every single time, and has been for years. Well done on that part! And well done on a huge menu with huge portions.
