Three Mother's West is "softly" opened in what was the Hwy 55 Burgers store...grand opening information should be coming soon. I visited Three Mother's original location soon after opening and met Chef Luis Talavera who gave me a tour, but this was my first dining experience. Yami got me set up with my order and drink...this place is bright, comfortable, and cheery. You also see the portrait of the "Three Mother's" prominently displayed on the wall.
I went with the chicken salad on a croissant with the coleslaw as the side. I requested they omit the pecans to which Chef Luis said, "no problem...give me a minute".
This is a really good homemade sandwich, and the croissant felt as if it just came out of the oven. The filling was more than ample while the flavors of chicken, apples, celery, and onions really complemented each other. Kinda hard to hold this sandwich together with all the filling but everything was fresh, crispy, and darn good! I liked the slaw...a mix of mayo and vinegar but the flavors were spot on and everything was wonderfully crunchy. Chef Luis brought around a tray of Tres Leche cake with a caramel drizzle to the ladies at the other table and me...gratis. I've got to say...this Tres Leche was exceptional, great flavors, the caramel gave it a nice kick, and the cake was firm but well soaked in milk.
Some folks may avoid the place based on cost; my sandwich & sweet tea ran $21.12 but the quality and quantity of the food made it worth the visit. They also have a breakfast menu and a number of other items on the lunch side I am interested in trying. Of course, all the pastries there will cause you to go into a sugar coma. Good food and excellent service, looking forward to their continued success on this side of town.

Read moreThis place is wonderful. I ended up getting a sweet tooth kind of late last night, Wednesday, February 7, 2024 and went in very close to closing time. They had already mopped and were finishing vacuuming the rugs and cleaning up behind the counter. I felt bad and was going to leave (not realizing it was so close to closing time when I entered - & no one likes "that" customer, lol) but they could not have been more generous and hospitable. They asked if I was looking for anything specific and I replied with no, just had a sweet craving and live close to here but have never been here. The gentleman behind the counter then brought me out a big cookie (free, to sample!) of course, he had no clue that cookies are my favorite sweets, lol, but they have just about anything you can imagine and each and every thing looks AMAZING! I quickly decided on a box of assorted cookies (he had sold me on the butter cookie he gave me for free, lol) the price was extremely reasonable, the cookies were all GREAT and they didn't make me feel rushed or as if I were a burden for coming in at the last second. I highly recommend these men (& women if any work there, there happen to only be two workers the short time I was inside) and this establishment to anyone who, like myself, may just have a sweet tooth or if you need something for a birthday party or office party or any gathering with food involved! Thanks, again, Three Mother's Cuisine & Bakery for making my late night, quick, trip there a pleasurable one. I will definitely recommend you to anyone in need of the services you provide. Read moreSuper disappointed - picked up four cupcakes to celebrate my birthday, and only one tasted good. Threw the other three away.
The pina colada one was so stale it was hard and completely dried out, like a lava rock. We couldn't eat the cake part at all and the frosting had zero flavor at all, like a vanilla cupcake without the vanilla. Complete fail, should've been thrown away by the shop days ago.
The peanut butter one was dry and well on it's way to stale, and had so much peanut butter in the frosting it tasted straight out of the jar. Not good.
The third was chocolate, also stale (not as bad as the pina colada one, though) the chocolate-colored frosting had no flavor like whip cream with no sugar or chocolate in it. Not good.
The fourth was chocolate mint and it was GREAT. Tasted freshly made that morning, moist chocolate cake, perfect minty frosting... it was exactly like I had expected all four to be. PERFECT.
I won't be back, though. Since one out of three was edible, it made a very expensive $15 cupcake. They need to be making these fresh daily, not keeping them so long, or at the very least, ensuring they are airtight to keep moist. Otherwise, how can you trust in the consistency of the product? I'd never risk $35 on a cake here that might not be edible. It would...
