Someone I work with said I needed to try this place, plus I frequent doughnut Country next door and have been interested. The guy said they had the best gyro in middle Tennessee if not in the south. So I took him up on that offer because I love a good beef gyro. So my family decided to have Friday night dinner here and it was absolutely amazing. This right here is one of the best restaurants in Middle Tennessee. My family travels a lot and we have had Mediterranean in New York City (my wifes hometown), Orlando, Detroit, and some other places. We always look for 4+ star places with tons of reviews. This place was the absolute best I’ve had. The meat was cooked perfect and moist, the toppings are fresh and not old. The taziki I could bathe in. The seasoned fries were perfectly fried and seasoned, my 4yo doesn’t like fries but she loved these. Speaking of kids there kids menus is fairly priced and offers decent portions for kids. My daughter loved the chicken tenders and fries with a juice box. My wife had the platter and she said it was better than the ones she got growing up in Brooklyn. The chicken on the platter was moist, the rice was perfectly buttery, and the beef was cooked to perfection. The final thing we had was the baklava, which was just perfect. The place I went to in Detroit use to be my favorite but this place beat it hands down. Now on to customer service, the guys working this place are exceptional. This place has some of the best customer service in middle Tennessee. You feel like they actually care how the food taste and if you have everything you need. Even with a long drive thru when we walked in, it only took maybe 10 minutes to get our food. This is a place you run to, not walk to. This is a place that you can’t duplicate. My first time and I love this place. We will definitely be back, I recommend you go too and sit down in there and eat if you can. The dining area is a little small but if you can go sit down and eat because the customer service is important to the...
Read moreSuper easy to find - head out of town on Memorial Blvd and when you see Blue Coat Burrito on the right and Tire World on the left - it's just past on the left in an A-Frame building (the Old Fat Mo's).
Easy parking and they have a drive up. Get the QR code off the picture of the current menu and phone ahead. Parking is no trouble but if you know the area, Memorial can have a lot of traffic.
Ample atmosphere - it's a Gyro shop. A generous portion, rice clean, neat, uniform grains neither over or under cooked - and not oily as I recently ran into in one location elsewhere in town.
I'm getting a side order of grape leaves next time. I tried one and it was pretty good.
The tabbouleh was crisp and fresh and rice and gyro meat - nice and hot. The Tzatziki was maybe a little more like Cacik. While virtually the same, in my mind Tzatziki retains a little more of the Greek yogurt tang than its Turkish cousin. I sampled the ranch, cool, nice and thick perfect for dipping the bread - which was served soft and hot.
Of my recent Greek lunches I have had recently - Greek Gyros had the best serving temperatures.
Ok the verdict - they are very good. If you are on that side of Murfreesboro - don't let the traffic or the fact it's not crammed in the retail centre of town stop you from trying them out. The dining are is pretty small - but remember that they have a...
Read moreWe were looking for an easy take out dinner that was healthier than sub sandwiches and other take out options. I’ve been craving gyros for a while, and called Greek gyros to see if they had a family meal. They did, and it did not disappoint!
They have a drive thru, but I parked and went in, because I was ordering for six. Everyone behind the counter was so nice and helpful. I ordered a family meal for six, and a side of hummus. The price was so reasonable for what I got, I would have paid the same for four giant subs at a nationwide chain sub shop.
The meal itself came with a huge pan of chicken and lamb gyro meat, another huge pan of rice, a container stuffed full of fresh salad and another of pita, plus tzatziki sauce. They asked if I wanted my pita whole or cut.
While I waited, I was given a sample of the chicken (seriously, so good, go for the mix!), and a piece of watermelon. It truly felt like being in a family business, where they genuinely want to be good hosts.
My family was so excited when I showed up with this amazing dinner, and we have a new favorite spot. Check them out, you will...
