We just had our wedding at Oakland's mansion and it was amazing! Definitely recommend getting married here if you appreciate simple elegance and a historical venue. We fell in love with the beauty of the venue when we first toured it and the reception hall was a perfect size for our smaller guest count. Our wedding was outside on the grounds with the mansion as the backdrop and happy hour was behind the mansion with pretty hanging lights. We received so many compliments about how beautiful the venue was. Connor was wonderful to work with, he helped me through the whole process of having our wedding at Oaklands and he answered all my emails so quickly. He also met with me multiple times in person to go over specific wedding details. He has a very calming presence that is much appreciated when you are stressed planning a wedding! Highly recommend choosing this venue, you...
Read moreWe made a reservation and paid online. We arrived just a bus of kids did also. I sighed knowing Id like have to put up with tons of people in my way when I took pictures. I approached the counter and let the guy know we were early for our reservation. He said that way fine they were going to take the kids out to the park to look and talk about the plants and trees before the house. He left us with a gentleman to talk about the house to us and then let us wonder around the house. Each room has a sign to explain what it is and likely how it was used. They do allow you take photos in the house and they have plenty of parking, the visitors center has bathrooms. Everyone we interacted with was very pleasant and happy to have us there. I recommend going to this house such a cool place not in...

Also , some history on construction. The information concerning rhe original owner, we had to read about in the halls and online. Would love more of a balanced history of the grounds. The good and the bad so we can learn from history. They are setting up a pride drag festival right outside the front door today... disappointed. When is the heterosexual festival?? Again, beautiful grounds I wish I could say...
