A Longtime Favorite in Murfreesboro
I have been a loyal customer of Yoki Buffet since before it even opened. Previously known as Chef Wang’s, I have been dining at this location for nearly 15 years. The reason I keep coming back is simple: although it’s a buffet, the quality of the food rivals that of regular restaurants. What truly sets Yoki Buffet apart from other buffet-style restaurants is the unlimited availability of high-quality dishes without delay.
Exceptional Seafood Selection One of my favorite items here is the blue crab. Yoki Buffet serves blue crab in large quantities, ensuring that there is always plenty available. What impresses me the most is that the crab is fresh and delicious. I have often encountered a chemical-like bleach smell in blue crab at other buffet restaurants, but I have rarely experienced that here. Additionally, the crawfish and clams are incredibly fresh and flavorful. The cream shrimp and various chicken dishes are also well-seasoned and tasty.
High-Quality Sushi & Sashimi What surprises many customers is the sushi quality at Yoki Buffet. Unlike typical buffet sushi, the rolls here are comparable to those at dedicated sushi restaurants. They offer a variety of rolls, including eel and shrimp, and even serve salmon sashimi. It's rare to find a buffet that provides fresh raw salmon like this.
Hibachi & Dessert Options The hibachi station is another highlight, where fresh ingredients are cooked to order. Adding teriyaki sauce and hot sauce enhances the flavors, making it a must-try. The dessert section is impressive, with a wide selection of ice cream, fruits, and sweets to satisfy any sweet tooth.
Ambiance & Service Yoki Buffet has a spacious seating area and ample parking, making it an excellent choice for family gatherings and casual meals with friends. However, because of its popularity, there is often a wait time, especially during peak hours. One drawback is the inconsistency in service. While some staff members are highly attentive and efficient, others may neglect drink refills and clearing plates.
Cleanliness & Facilities One area that could use improvement is the cleanliness of the restrooms, which can sometimes be below expectations. Additionally, the lighting in the back parking lot is dim, which may feel unsafe at night.
Recent Visit Experience During my most recent visit, I noticed that the food quality was slightly below its usual standard. I arrived around 6:30 PM, and some of the dishes seemed a bit stale. However, by 8:00 PM, fresher items were being served again. Because of this, I am deducting one star from my usual rating.
Final Verdict Despite some minor flaws, Yoki Buffet remains the best buffet in the Nashville area. The seafood selection, sushi quality, and variety of dishes make it stand out among other buffets. I hope my next visit will be as amazing as before, and I look forward to updating my review again...
Read moreWhen I visited with my husband, daughter and father Sunday foe our weekly brunch outing we arrived at 11:10 am and families were already there and more people flooding in with is a great thing showing how popular the restaurant is. This is am enormous buffet offering the most food and varieties of food, I was almost overwhelmed by so many choices. Not only Chinese and Tai food with unbelievable selections of seafood like frog legs, lobster tail. Wonderful selection of sushi but also mac and cheese and corn on the cob. I went for the vegetable lo Mein noodles, General Tao's chicken, beef and broccoli and an egg roll, I was unfortunately disappointed. I've never experienced this before with Thai and Chinese food but everything was bland and tasted the same. It all lacked flavor. I was amazed at how fresh everything looked and the restaurant was superb at restocking the buffet. While we were there as soon as the doors opened and were seated immediately the place filled up so fast with so very many people it was utter chaos approaching any of the numerous buffet islands with people literally pushing and cutting on front of me with complete disregard. I understand if it ever occurs with children but these were adults acting like complete savages. The restaurant was hot and stuffy and although my 11 year old daughters enjoyed it and husband didn't complain, this was not my cup of tea. I may try again on a different day and time rather than Sunday brunch at 11 am when doors open. If it weren't for the food being so bland and unremarkable I'd attribute my negative experience to the customers and overcrowding, not the restaurant. I know I'm in the minority here b/c it's obvious so many people love this place but I thought I'd share my experience for anyone considering a good Chinese Buffet. This was not it for me. I adored our server though. She was remarkable and showed effortless grace amongst...
Read moreThe food is good but the way they run the business is crazy. They treated us like we were going to steal the whole time and rushed us out. I came with my 6 year old twins who are fraternal so they dont look exactly alike and the guy asked like 3 times if they were both 6 when I told him like I was lying or something. One of my kids takes awhile to eat and obviously I’m not going to get up to get seconds and leave my 6 year olds alone, and if I left their plates there at the table and took them with me then the staff would collect the plates and charge us for wasting food even though they weren’t finished (happened before here) so I sat at the table to let my kids finish eating even though I finished so we could return to the buffet together and ensuring our first plates were finished. While my kids plates were still pretty full a woman brought me the check and I moved it aside because I wasn’t finished as we were going to get ice cream and the second plates. Mind you, the whole time my kids are eating staff kept hovering by our table I guess to make sure we weren’t going to dine and dash despite my kids literally eating. Then when we got up for ice cream and just sat back at the table the woman that brought me the check came back and stood at the table telling me she was ready for me to pay and I told her we weren’t even finished and my kids take awhile to eat but whatever. I ended up not getting seconds and told my kids to stop eating their ice cream, paid, and left. I know people lie and steal but you’re making the interaction for everyone weird treating every patron like they’re out to rob you or maybe you just singled me out because I’m a single mother and assumed that is what I was here to do. Terrible dining experience and I...
