Went to Millie's with a friend today (we've been to other locations). I ordered brownie batter on a cake cone and my friend ordered a brownie batter milkshake. Two employees quickly started making our orders, but you could visibly see that the icecream was runny. One employee had asked if a bowl instead of a cone was okay, because it was messy (the icecream was essentially milk). Thankfully, one employee suggested getting a fresh container of icecream. Once a new container was obtained, both employees had issues scooping the icecream out and it seemed to take a significant amount of time (understandable since it was in a freezer). I never received a cone, but a bowl with minimal icecream and my friend received a very runny milkshake. Wasn't the best experience, but not the worst. Staff were friendly but maybe new? They didn't seem to know that something was off with the icecream or what to do, being that they initially intended on serving runny icecream. Environment was a clean,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThere should really be one person taking an entire order. Having to repeat what you ordered makes very little sense, especially when you want to get a table. The milkshake was great, the sundaes were sad. The whipped cream was tasty, but melted too fast. My ice cream was solid, and my whipped cream was liquid and caused my cherry to fall off onto the counter. Instead of remaking or adding a cherry, she asked if I wanted another. Why even ask? I paid for it. The buckeye was disappointing and tasted like burnt chocolate, which bled into the pistachio and was inedible. The smiley cookie was good, but the oh baby was souring. I'm unclear if the ice cream is made off-site and brought in or if it's made on site. Either way, there is a quality control issue from the service and food. The facility is clean and bright, but can your staff tell visually or by taste if something is bad? And are they tasting it every day at different times and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMillieās is a very cute ice cream shop, and the shop in Murrysville is just one of a number of Pittsburgh area locations. While you enjoy your ice cream, there are games to play on the tables, and they also have a water dispenser in the back. The ice cream is very creamy and made with high quality ingredients, and they offer a few dairy-free selections as well. I feel like a few of the flavors (the coffee and the pistachio) are very stand-out and incredible, but others arenāt as remarkable, but likely due to personal preference as I like bigger chunks of mix-ins, and the flavors here tend to be a bit more blended. Their flavor options rotate with different months, but they always have a few key flavors available and you can get free samples to help make your decision. With the ingredients being of higher quality, this is a more expensive ice cream shop, which makes my stops here less frequent...
