I placed a pickup order was told it would be ready in 15mins. Turned out after arriving in 20mins, it took another 15mins to get my order. So, while timing wasn't a big deal, if you're crunched for time, I'd suggest you order ahead maybe 35-40mins and maybe just maybe it'll be ready.
I have to say this was my first time visiting. Inside, the visual aspect was clean but as you walk from the entrance to the counter, the floor was sticky from the sound of my kicks. I thought, ok, hopefully they clean the seating and tables better but I wasn't there to inspect, only to pick-up.
Well, last but not least, the dissatisfied appearance of our food was shocking. So, we placed a large 3 piece catfish order thinking that would be sufficient for the $17.95 price for each plate and 2 sides. Wow were we wrong. For everyone's knowledge and preparation, they sell you what one could possibly argue is false advertising as 3 pieces of which you're likely accustomed. Noooo, you're really getting 1 and 1/2 pieces of fish for the quoted 3 because they are cutting the filets in half from the wide top to the bottom tail and call that 2 pieces. Maybe that's the new thing but I wasn't pleased nor impressed. Taste was favorable but portion and menu option is a bit misleading.
So, for the portion advertised reasoning and not specifically calling out their sale/size, I wouldn't recommend this as a choice to seek area fish lunch/dinner from.
To the owner, my apologies but you had to know at some point someone would catch this and call it for what it is. I would say consumers would likely appreciate the correct sized filet vs a half but I have to admit it's clever because you do say # catfish because there's no industry standard term...
Read moreWe drove over an hour to try this place. It had great reviews so we thought it would be a good meal for Father's Day. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't worth the drive. The portion sizes were great for the price. It's hard to feed a family of 4 for $60, but we did and we left full. It seems like our food was either cooked in old grease, or the grease wasn't hot enough. The fish was SO greasy and salty that I couldn't finish mine. My fried okra was sitting in oil when it came out. Despite the bad, the hush puppies were the star of the show. The tartar sauce was also delicious. We will probably never make a special trip here again, but it was an okay experience. I did witness an employee being rude to a customer. The family had been there before us. One of them was waiting on their food when we ordered and was still waiting after we got our food. When they finally gave up and asked for a refund, the employee threw her hands up at them and acted like they were lying about not having been served yet. I've worked in the restaurant business and tend to give grace in these situations because things happen. But she was so rude to that family for no reason. That dampened my opinion of the establishment right off the bat. I hope the customer service issues can be worked out for...
Read moreWas open only through drive-thru because they had a group inside, but the entire front dining area was empty. After the group left, I asked if we could come in to eat instead of eating at one of the tables outside because it was really hot outside even though it was almost 8 PM. Was told no because they were cleaning the dining area where the group had been. While there both sitting waiting on the food to get ready and then sitting outside to eat there were probably 5 people who read the sign on the door and just turned around and left, even after the group had gone. My order was supposed to be two plates with two whole Catfish with two sides and four extra orders of hushpuppies. When we got the order, there were 3 filets in each box. I again ordered WHOLE Catfish, which would have equal 4 filets, not 3. I was also surprised that the hushpuppies had sugar in them, the tarter sauce was made with mustard, and the fries were cold. I think you can tell by this review that this was our first time eating here and will definitely be our last. Oh, and the best part was that it cost...
