Usually a great place with great drinks. Last night was a disappointment. We walked in and found open space at the bar to order drinks. (It was somewhat busy but everyone at the bar was already served and just one other couple walked in before us). There 5 or 6 people behind the bar...all appeared to be 'busy' and none of whom seemed very interested in serving us. After a few minutes wait a bartender finished making somone's drink and approached us. She walks up looks directly at us, says something like looks like 'drinks are needed' and immediately turns away to ask an already seated group of patrons if they want refills. We weren't greeted, we weren't offered a menu or a drink, no one said 'oh let me help these customers who have been patienty waiting for service before you arrived', no one offered to have one of the 5 other bartenders help us - Absolutely no other commentary occurred...she just proceeded to make refills for the seated customers (pandering to them) while ignoring the new ones (us).
I have never been to an establishment that would snubb new (standing patiently waiting) customers for existing seated customers. The existing seated customer isn't going anywhere -- they have a tab open. We walked out. There's no point paying for expensive 'swanky' libations at a place without basic service values.
We have been to Soiree several times before...this appears to be a service anomaly ...their drinks and service are usually top notch. (I rated them 3 stars for this reason). We have even met the owners previously and they are very good at customer service. Last night's (Friday night) 'B crew' was hopefully not representative of where service is headed at Soiree Wine Bar. Instead of a swanky cocktail lounge in Muskego it last night's vibe felt like a dive corner bar in West Allis where the regulars are taken care of and others are treated like outsiders. We decided to go down the street to Crush Wine Bar and had a pleasant...
Read moreSoiree is the premier Cocktail Lounge in Muskego. It's got a chill vibe, well done decor, good selection of drinks (including some NA versions).
The outside of the building is not much to look at, so it can be a little deceiving. And the parking lot is kind of a mess. Inside you'll kind different areas for groups of different sizes. Seating can either be at the bar, cafe tables, chairs/sofa, and even in front of a faux fireplace.
There is a robust list of cocktails, beers, and wines to choose from. There are some interesting drink recipes (the Airplane), and they are well made. Don't see something on the menu? Just ask and they will do their best to get it done.
Friendly bartenders...
Read moreFor starters, I don’t know why this place is so highly rated. It isn’t that great. The wine selections are sub par, however they have some good bourbon selections. Every time I’m in there, the owner is on the computer, not socializing with her patrons, unless it’s her closest friends. However, the husband drinks well with others (maybe a bit over friendly with the customers). We had been invited to Soiree for a special event, that had to be abruptly cancelled due to the owners over booking, leaving them to find a quick alternative location. Thanks to another nearby establishment for helping them out and we had a blast. Because of this, I will not be patronizing...
