Edited to add: its been more than 6 months and I still haven't heard back from them regarding repairs to my refrigerator.
Where do I start? The service or the products....
Products - purchased Washer and dryer set (was told they were top of the line), stove, refrigerator, microwave, range, and dishwasher. Immediately had issues with the refrigerator and washer and dryer set. Contacted Seaway Applaince and they came out a few days later to investigate. Washer not spinning dispensing the fabric softener correctly, ultimately leaving stains and ruining several clothing items before we could figure out what was wrong. Was advised to dilute softener beyond 50% (which I have never had to do on any other Washer that I have ever owned). So I stead of a repair, we just modify our laundry, I guess. Fine. Dryer doesn't dry all the way on Auto Dry cycle, so we are forced to use Timed Dry on medium to high heat for 60 minutes. This is literally the only option that works to dry a load right from the washer. Service advised us that the dryer vent had not been cleaned out during installation (which is only the distance through the wall. Very direct, no bends, just the vent tube through the wall). This did not fix the issue, the dryer still has to be operated on the 60 minute cycle. This is a Speed Queen set, by the way. We were told this is the best of the best. The refrigerator has fridge-over-freezer style. Installers didn't install water line, forcing me to do it myself. No big deal, but I thought that was part of installation. But hey, I took care of that. Seaway Appliance was I formed of the top freezer drawer was very difficult to open and close. They came out to look at it, slapped some Vaseline on it and said it would need new rails. It has been a while and have not heard back from them.
This leads me into the service issue. Washer and dryer are trash and there is nothing I can do about it. The service department via emails, I was told was unaware of any issues with the refrigerator. I threw in the towel on the washer and dryer because there is no point in arguing with someone just to have the conversation go in circles. During my original purchase, there was a rebate for 90% of the appliances that I purchased. The sales person told me to hold off on the rebate and she would send me all the serial numbers in an email because we were waiting on the dishwasher to be delivered. She also informed me that all the serial numbers were on labels on each of the appliances. Either way, I wait for her email and it hasn't come, so I reminded her, got the serial numbers and submitted my rebate the same day. Just to now receive a notification that the rebate wasn't accepted. But that is between myself and LG. That's fine. Oh well.
Delivery day for the appliances - I could immediately tell there was some frustration the the guys making the delivery. Asking why they (Jen -sales) would put a full delivery on a certain day. You could clearly tell he didn't want to be here to assist in my installation. The dryer tube, the water line on the refrigerator, and he also said it is not possible for me to reverse the dryer door so it would open the other direction (which was a lie and I made service aware of this when they came out to investigate my issues).
Overall the customer service is 1 out of 5 stars. Except Jim in the repair department. He is nice and explained things fairly well.
The appliances, a few of them get 0 out of 5 stars. But at least we get a decent dishwasher, microwave and range for $8900.
In conclusion, I will never return to Seaway Appliance again. Just waiting on my...
Read moreMy dryer quit working. I shopped around online at the big box stores first. I like to support local small businesses and looked on Seaway Appliance website too. I also remembered how they used to give me big appliance boxes years ago when I did daycare for us to make forts. They had the same dryer I decided on from another store for only $30 more. I called right before closing and talked to Jennifer for 15 minutes as she answered all of my questions about two different ones. I told her that I would call back in the morning. Called the next morning when they opened and spoke to Randy. He is Jennifer’s husband btw. Lol He price matched the dryer and they were out the same day to deliver. Keith and Gabriel were awesome, friendly, and knowledgeable delivery guys. Very careful and explained everything to me. Even showed me the inside of my dryer vent so I knew it was clean and where my gas shut off valve is. Just all around great service from Seaway Appliance and I would recommend to anyone. On a side note, I lost my husband nine months ago and everything seems to be going wrong around the house and it is stressful. The employees at Seaway Appliance have no idea how much I appreciated everything they did and how they made this whole transaction smooth and one less thing to worry about. Thank you so much!! Support small...
Read moreI had a washer and dryer delivered a few weeks ago. And just now noticed a couple issues. The service was great. They gave me a deal on an okay, but pricey set.
There was no owners manual with the washer. And the dryer only came with an installation manual. For the Maytag dryer, the clothes don't dry all the way, which is really irritating. I try to search instructions on YouTube for Maytag Commercial... Because that is the make and model. The only thing I can locate are their TV ads! 🤦🏼
Since there is no manual for the washer, it is hard for me to tell what this mysterious 3rd tray is for next to where the detergent goes, that is not labeled for anything.
But the thing that concerns me the most is when they turned off the gas to disconnect the old dryer, the busted my valve! They used an adjustable wrench and pryed this thing for no reason at all!! This was a very good valve and turns easily by hand! I know this because I moved the dryer to clean around it before they arrived! Instead, they break the handle, never say anything, then balance the broken piece on top of where it used to be connected to, as if it was never broken! That being said, they guys were very nice and helpful, so I am still...
