C. C. Smokehouse
This restaurant has a large following and is popular. Although this was my first visit being a new citizen of Nacogdoches I was impressed.
Also popular with law enforcement officers and that is always a plus for any restaurant.
Clean with a wide range of tasty dishes. The staff is absolutely friendly and helpful with any questions. And I had a great many on my first visit.
There is a buffet setup for various BBQ plates. And a diversified menu that covers a wide selection of dishes. You order your food and it is prepared after you pay for it and delivered to your table. Service was not just attentive but fast.
There are staff members always nearby in case you need any assistance. My empty tray was being collected and I mentioned I was about to go to refill my iced tea. The nice young lady immediately took my cup and refilled it for me. Very nice and was not expected.
My lunch partner ordered the āRanch Handā Sirloin (8oz) that is served with one side and a 20oz Fountain Drink for $8.99. He enjoyed the steak with Tater Tops. The portion was large.
I tried something a bit different. The Smokehoue Club is made with very fresh and delicious Roast Beef, Turkey, Bacon, with Pepperjack Cheese and Lettuce, Tomato, and Onions on their Sheila Part bread.
Very satisfied with this sandwich and learned that the bread was something different and new; at least to me. A bit of sweetness but not a lot and a nice size similar to a small loaf.
The cost was $9.99 and also comes with a side order and a 20oz Fountain Drink.
The manager was asked about their Onion Rings and I was informed they are prepared in house. No frozen onion rings here. They were good and are in house made. Not as flaky as I like; perhaps a different batter would increase the flakiness like using buttermilk.
The portion for this selection was also enough to take care of any hunger and all at a reasonable cost.
Another Nacogdoches restaurant with easy parking, clean, very good food and lots to select from along with a professional and very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCraving brisket I checked reviews for local bbq joints and found CC's had a 4.4. Server was great, very friendly, very professional. I ordered a pound of brisket to go. What a disappointment. It was awful. Old, dry, obviously reheated, and pre-sliced thin by a machine. Reminded me of pastrami that's been in the fridge for a week. It seems CC's is not a barbeque house. Apparently, they make a good steak or burger, but their brisket is to be avoided. A lot of raves in the reviews about their steaks, so I will have to try one. After I do, I will adjust my rating and reviews accordingly.
UPDATE 7-22-21: Changing from 2 to 5 stars. Since I wrote the above review I've gone back and their brisket is once again made in-house, and is perfect. Have had several good experiences there with their ribs and sausage, and was excited to find out they offer smoked, half chickens. Not on the menu, but they have it, and it was great! Also very much enjoyed the fried zucchini, fried green tomatoes, and crammed spinach. I may become a regular, and if the quality changes, rest assured, I will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe sat down after we placed our order. I noticed people that had arrived after we did were getting their. Looked at the area where the orders are waiting to go to the tables and out burgers were sitting there getting cold. Sure enough the fries were nasty cold. It was 25 minutes or more after we ordered we got our burgers my husband's chopped beef was not ready. When they brought it the girl said that the person that was fixing his sandwich was in training the bin was upside down cold and it had someone's hair on it. Worst eating experience. Restrooms are not marked which is which and needed attention badly to the point that there flies zooming around, no toilet paper or soap. Will not go back I understand they were busy but there were more then enough people working. Very...
