Delicious! Karakoles is like the younger sister of El Makito restaurant. It's steps away from i, the menu is very similar but Karakoles is much smaller in space. They are located right on el malecón with great water views. The service was fast and friendly. We ordered 1 empanada de langosta and 1 empanada de camarones. Both were great! We also ordered the camarones al ajillo with arepas de coco and the langosta al ajillo with tostones. They were both really, really good and portioned right. We also had a few Medallas with our meal. The restaurant is clean and so are the bathrooms. Parking can be a hassle depending on the day of the week and time you arrive as el malecón gets busy during the weekends. We really enjoyed this place. Go for dinner and then walk around el malecón to enjoy the waterfront....
Read moreAverage and overpriced food, after a long time of waiting of 2 hours and an unconfortable temperature in the facility I give the place 3 stars, since food was ordinary!!!
We went and the waiting time was too long (2 hours), for the amount of food that was requested (only 4 dishes).
Not only the waiting time was a very long one, but the AC unit was not working properly, since it was very hot and even the waiter notice how hot it was. Whe asked if the AC unit could be checked so that it could be on a better and more confortable temperature, there was no response back and when asked for a second time, the waiter staited that the owner did'nt want to fix the AC unit even though that it was very hot (Im assuming, to save...
Read moreNot worth it!! I took my mom here for an early Mother’s Day lunch and we arrived at 1:50 PM. The atmosphere felt a bit unwelcoming at first, but we were seated quickly and placed our appetizer order even before our drinks. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty—with only one other table seated—the appetizer still took over 30 minutes. When I asked the waiter, he explained that the establishment is split into two dining areas that share a single kitchen, which supposedly causes delays.
After 40 minutes of waiting, I followed up again, only to be told the appetizer was just being prepared. At that point, I didn’t even want to imagine how long the rest of our meal would take. For a small appetizer, such a long delay is simply unacceptable. We chose to pay for our drinks and leave. The service was slow, the staff's attitude indifferent, and the experience overall was very disappointing. As a local and a reviewer, I can’t recommend this place. Skip the hype and try somewhere more worth your time.
