This is a review I am tickled to present: my husband and I went to Yanni’s in Nampa, the new Greek restaurant, and we could not have been more pleased. I honestly did not think I would be able to find authentic Greek dishes anywhere in this area that compare to what we ate while on Crete in Greece… but, I am happy to report we now have a place we can go for some nostalgia. We started with the hummus and pita bread. The hummus, while a small serving, was incredibly flavorful and the pita bread was somehow a mixture of fluffy, flavorful and crisp. So yummy and exactly how it tasted in Greece. Hubby had the pastitsio (which was a fave for us while over there) and it was decadent and authentic. Shockingly good. I had the Greek salad; which is something I’ve been craving (and tried to recreate myself to no avail) since we left the Mediterranean and it was absolutely perfect. They even had un-pitted Kalamata olives! The service was wonderful, the decor, atmosphere and music was pleasing and fitting, and even though it is in Nampa… it is RIGHT off the freeway and almost easier (and far less stressful) to get to than downtown Boise. We cannot wait to go back and try their other dishes. Highly recommend! I want to see this place thrive! Oh and I feel like I need to say (due to how positive this review is) I don’t know the owners from Adam; I just loved our time in Greece and had some of the best food I’ve ever had while over there, so to know an authentic Greek food restaurant exists near me...

We brought one of my closest friends to Yannis for a girls' dinner and birthday celebration. She’s Greek and grew up in her father’s Greek restaurant, so when I say she’s incredibly picky about authentic Greek food, I mean it! To my delight, Yannis exceeded her expectations, which made me even more excited because it was my first time trying authentic Greek cuisine.

We started off with the Mezze platter classic Tzatziki and Spanakopita, the dolmades, hummus & warm pita all of which set the tone for the rest of the dining experience. The Tzatziki was perfectly balanced with tangy yogurt, fresh cucumbers, and taste of garlic, while the Spanakopita was flaky and savory, with a deliciously rich filling.

The Moussaka was what I ordered. Layers of eggplant, minced meat, and bƩchamel sauce created a rich and hearty dish that felt like comfort food at its finest. The flavors melded beautifully, and the portion size was generous enough for a satisfying meal.

The service at Yannis was exceptional. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering recommendations and explaining dishes with enthusiasm. Overall, Yanni's offers an authentic Greek dining experience that transports you straight to the Mediterranean. With flavorful, fresh ingredients and traditional dishes prepared with love, this is a place that I will definitely be returning to again and again & I will be sure to get pictures...

My husband and I tried Yanni’s tonight after seeing it in a Facebook ā€œFood Findsā€ group. New business and it was great. The staff were all friendly and our waiter was attentive and super on top of it. We overheard both of the waiters working having conversations with other people dining and got a chuckle at some of their jokes- it was a lighthearted calming, environment! The food was delicious, not lacking in flavor or options what-so-ever. The portions were large, even when we finished our food, there was leftover tzatziki and other dips and our waiter asked if we wanted more pita for it. We ordered the tri-dip appetizer and it was delicious! I loved the spicy feta and my husband was raving about the hummus. My husband got that Souvlaki with prawns and I got the daily special (some kind of herb and vegetable stuffed chicken breast). We also did the Greek Salad Flatbread just to try a little of everything, everything was perfect! We have been making lots of homemade Greek food and have not been able to go to any of the Greek places after feeling like what we make at home is better, this place definitely superseded our cooking by a landslide. We paid $87 before tip, but I will say that we did not need nearly as much food as we ordered, so that would not be the average bill for a party of two. Definitely recommend this place and will be...

Nampa has been needing a new sweet place to dine, and I love that it is authentic Greek cuisine at Yannis at Shilo Inn off I84 at Franklin exit. We had family visiting, recently returned from Italy. Dad saw the 'Taste of Greece' on the menu when we came for lunch, asked the waiter about it, and decided we would be back for evening service. Waiter Landon took excellent care of us and Yanni wowwed us with this spread. Platters of deliciousness served family style was so fun and cozy! We started with a stunning Greek salad drizzled with a dressing that is haunting me, didn't get a photo before it was devoured. All of the fresh flavors with herb crusted and marinated beef, shrimp and chicken souvlaki (skewers), crisp calamari, melt-in-your-mouth roast lamb, half rack of Greek pork ribs, spanakopita (spinach in phyllo) and tiropita (cheese triangles), dolmades (savory rice and meat in grape leaves) in a heavenly avgolemono sauce, rice, lemon potatoes, hummus, tzatiki and pita. All the flavors, textures, herbs and colors complimented each other for a memorable family feast. And now we know, from the 'Taste of Greece' what we will order on our next visit! We will definitely be back again and again! This is so exciting for our corner of Treasure Valley, a gem in Nampa!

I really hate having to write this as I don’t want to hurt a new business but… we went for the first time and we will not be back. The server was very stand off ish. He didn’t know the kids meal came with a drink (said kids don’t come in often so I get it but still..) and then we waited a very long time for our food. They said they were short staffed. We got our 3 lamb gyros and immediately we were so let down. There was nothing; and I mean nothing inside of it. The fries were cold. We all took one bite and couldn’t eat anymore. We also got the spicy feta dip and it just tasted like tomatoes sauce. The kids spaghetti had such a weird after taste. And again, the service was just so lack luster. I went back to the kitchen and spoke the manager and he seemed so genuinely sorry and that he was trying but the side salad looked way more appealing than our whole dish.
