When we lived in Napa over 15 years ago Red Rock Cafe was a staple in our lives. My husband and I were in Napa this week for a family event. We happened to be out and about Christmas shopping and wanted to grab something to eat. My husband suggested Red Rock and I was hesitant. Had the restaurant changed hands? Was it still great? Would I be disappointed? We went and from the moment we walked in all my apprehension immediately dissipated. The warm welcoming feeling had not changed, the seasonal salt and pepper shaker had not changed and most importantly our favorite server was still there! We ordered our burgers and 1/2 fries 1/2 onion rings to share. I took one bite and realized this burger is the standard to which I hold all other burgers and I had not realized it. We enjoyed our experience so much that two days later on our way out of town we stopped in. They now have Bar-B-Q, we ordered some for the ride home, house made desserts-do not miss the Peanut Butter & Chocolate Pie,if available. So many things change and I for one and thankful the Red Rock Cafe has not. If you are in Napa and want a great burger, bar-b-q or salad stop by, you will...
Read moreThis is a place that has delicious barbecue and great charm all at a pretty reasonable price in the modern bbq market. I had this place recommended to me as the best bbq in california and i think that does it a disservice. Its bbq isnt the most flavorful ive had, its not the most tender ive ever had, or the cheapest ive had but is undeniably better than 95% of joints who claim to be the best. I highly recommend stopping into red rock and thinking of it as a small local gem. Cause through those eyes, it all shines so much brighter. Sauce that makes every bite special. Corn muffins that open with the best smelling steam and warmth. Ribs and brisket and garlic fries all bursting with flavor. The menu with charming clip art. The Godzilla toy with goofy eyes and a chip jar. The fact the check comes in a lil mason jar. This is an establishment that has little choices that have grown into its dna in the many years that its been open. I doubt there will ever be a time im passing through agian where i dont stop and enjoy such a...
Read moreLooked like home, felt like home and tasted like home with an extra sprinkle of magic. This was a random pick and glad I tried it out. It had great reviews and they weren't lying. They currently have indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating has heaters and is under a tent. The parking lot is very small so keep in mind when visiting. I ordered the chicken strips as appetizers and they were huge and moist, very good and tender. Second I ordered the bacon avocado burger with fries. The burger meat was fresh and flavorful. The fries tasted home made and had an unknown delicious seasoning. I can still taste the mixture of crunchyness and softness that the fries had. Unfortunately the place is located in Napa and not down the street for me or this would be my weekend breakfast spot after church. Thank you to the kind staff for being...
