I recently stopped by Bar-B-Cutie SmokeHouse on Nolensville Pike in Nashville, TN and I’m so glad I did. This spot is fully locally owned and you can feel that pride and care in every part of the experience.

The food is exactly what you want from a true BBQ restaurant: flavorful, hearty, and served hot. The brisket and sides were spot on, but the real star of the show for me was the banana pudding. Hands down some of the best I’ve had in Nashville, creamy, perfectly balanced, and the kind of dessert you’ll want to come back for on its own.

What really made the visit special was the manager. She was so friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. She took the time to make sure everything was just right, and that kind of service makes a big difference. The rest of the staff matched that same energy, fast and attentive without ever making you feel rushed.

The environment is just as good as the food, clean, casual, and cozy with a classic smokehouse feel. Prices are more than fair for the quality and portion sizes, which makes it an easy go-to whether you’re grabbing lunch, dinner, or just swinging through the drive-thru.

UPDATE 7/2/25 Excited to say the nachos are back to their wonderful normal. Picked up dinner for five: 2 x 3 meat sampler plates Smoked chicken breast plate BBQ nachos BBQ stuffed spud It was all delicious, fresh, and super yummy. Happy to highly recommend again!

We have picked up take out from our neighborhood Bar-B-Cutie for years. Since Covid their nacho dish (a favorite of multiple people in our household) has gone downhill, as they say. They switched to a different chip that is way thin and tastes like cardboard. The beans often taste burnt. The meat itself is always good, the tomatoes fresh. The last time we got food last week I couldn't even eat it. My husband didn't eat his either. It's awful pricey for food we can't eat. Hoping they turn a corner soon. We always loved this place.

Their sweet tea is amazing, the green beans fantastic, and their sauces are very tasty. It's not all bad by any stretch.

The staff is always folksy, patient, and kind. Tipflation has gotten this one too, a tip is requested through the drive thru now, which is fairly new.

Will go again hoping for a better outcome but these last couple visits...

We recently hosted a party for 65 people and chose Bar-B-Cutie SmokeHouse to cater the event. From beginning to end, they surpassed our expectations.

The menu featured brisket, pulled pork, and chicken, each one more delicious than the last. The brisket was tender and packed with flavor, the pulled pork was juicy with just the right amount of smoke and seasoning, and the chicken was cooked to perfection. Every dish demonstrated their BBQ expertise, leaving our guests raving about the food.

The catering team was incredibly professional and efficient. They arrived on time, set up everything smoothly, and made sure all the food was served hot and fresh. Their attention to detail and dedication to service were truly impressive. It was clear they genuinely cared about making our event special. A delightful touch was the adorable bottles of sauce provided on the side.

Our guests couldn’t stop talking about the amazing food, and I completely agree.
