As a truck driver, I often order food in bulk to last me through the week, so quality and service matter a lot. I recently visited Curry Corner in Tennessee, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience across the board.
First off, I ordered two chicken dishes—one was the regular chicken curry, and the other was their so-called “Curry House Special Chicken Curry.” I chose the special one, expecting something unique. It turned out to be the same as the regular chicken curry—there was absolutely nothing “special” about it.
The chicken biryani was another letdown. It lacked flavor completely. It tasted like plain rice tossed in chicken curry sauce in a frying pan. Honestly, they should just call it “pan-fried rice” instead of biryani because it had none of the rich, layered taste or aroma a biryani should have.
The ordering process was also frustrating. I tried to place my order over the phone, but the guy refused and told me to order online. I get that some people place orders and never pick them up, but from my own experience working in restaurants, we used to take card details over the phone to avoid such issues. It wasn’t that hard. Plus, as customers, we like to ask questions before we place an order, especially when we’re unfamiliar with the menu. Online ordering doesn’t give that flexibility.
When I arrived to pick up the food, the staff member who greeted me had an unwelcoming attitude. Being Indian myself, I could sense a familiar tone—the kind where they act like they’re doing you a favor rather than offering a service. It didn’t feel professional.
To top it off, they forgot one of the chicken curries in my order. I asked the guy to help count the items, and he just told me to check the bag myself. That’s not how you treat a paying customer. When I pointed out the missing curry, he casually offered to refund me instead of just making the dish. I had planned my order carefully within a budget and for the road—what good is a refund when I need the food? After insisting, he finally made it, but again I think he just gave me a regular curry instead of the special.
Overall, this place left a bad taste—both literally and in terms of service. I really don’t understand how they have a 4.9-star rating. Based on my experience, it feels like those reviews were paid for. I wouldn’t recommend this place, especially if you value decent service and...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Curry Corner is more than a restaurant—it’s a culinary experience that will leave you spellbound. The food is nothing short of extraordinary, an explosion of flavors crafted with care and passion. From the moment I tasted the first bite, I knew this place was special.
The samosas are absolute perfection—golden and crisp on the outside, with a savory filling that hits all the right notes. But the real star is the samosa chaat, a masterpiece of textures and spices that I can’t recommend highly enough. And let’s talk about the lamb—it’s so tender, it practically dissolves as you savor each morsel. Every dish is a testament to the chef’s skill and commitment to excellence.
What impressed me even more was the resilience and grace of the chef-owner. On a challenging night with staffing obstacles, he single-handedly delivered a seamless dining experience, never compromising on quality. His dedication to his craft and his dreams is inspiring—it’s the kind of story that makes you want to support small, local businesses.
Curry Corner is a must-visit for anyone seeking unforgettable flavors and top-tier hospitality. This restaurant deserves to thrive, and I urge you to experience it for yourself. You’ll not only enjoy an exceptional meal but also support someone passionately chasing their dream in a tough economy. Trust me, you...
Read moreDelicious, freshly cooked food in a lowkey atmosphere. My husband and I stopped in while our kids were at an activity in the area, and I just happened to see this restaurant on Google maps nearby. It was fabulous and we will definitely be back. We were the only ones at first, but it filled up by the time we were finishing. The owner was very friendly and patient, explaining the different dishes to me as I wasn’t familiar with all of them. We ordered chilli paneer as an appetizer; garlic and regular naan, Vegetable korma, Chana saag, and malai kofta. We had plenty to take home. Those main dishes are vegetarian curries and were spectacular. I like my food very salty so I added salt, but in general the spices were great. The food was clearly very fresh and came piping hot. We ordered it at spice level 3 of 10. Next time we would go to 4, and my husband could go up to 5. We love all the local Indian restaurants but are particularly impressed with Curry Corner. It’s a hole in the wall and well,...
