I asked for Nachos Jaliciense, with chicken. And I asked for the toppings to be on the side. Simple enough, right? I mean they make it all seperate anyway amd then put it on top of the chips? Soooooooooo, you would think this request would be easy to accomodate. But I couldnt be further from the truth. They told me they can't serve it like that, with the chips and the toppings separate. I wasnt asking for everything seperate just the mixed toppings and cheese and tomatoes, chicken, beans all mixed together .. On the side. Easy!? NOPE. They proceeded to tell me that they can not seperate something that is clearly seperated before I ordered it, and while they are cooking it. How and why on earth can they not just put the toppings in a container and the chips in a container?! I will not be back! The lady went back to ask the guy cooking and he had to come around the corner and look at me before he could tell her that he wouldnt make it like I requested. I'm not saying that the Hispanic gentleman cooking there was racist, but I bet you $100 if I asked a hispanic friend to ask for nachos made with toppings on the side there would be no questions asked. Smh. Terrible...

Food was mediocre - the guacamole had big chunks of avocado in it that made it difficult to eat, and the chicken tasted a bit off as if it had been sitting out.

Would have been 3-4 star review but they handed us out old menus with lower prices on them, and then charged us at the end $2-3 extra per item because apparently they had handed out old menus. Instead of honoring the prices on the menus they handed us initially (which factored heavily into what we ordered), they charged us the prices on the new menu (which they never provided us before they handed us our bill).

It may have been an honest mistake, but if it was, they would have honored the prices they gave us. I am the customer - it is not my job to realize that we were handed old menus with incorrect prices. Instead of simply honoring the prices they gave us, they kept trying to explain what had happened, as if me knowing we received old menus would have made me okay with paying more for food they, perhaps inadvertently, advertised as costing less. In my opinion, that is a sneaky way to do business, and a great way to lose...

tl;dr - rediculously long wait time, horrible quality food and hospitality, waitress went missing?????

Walked in, music was blaring (enough to wake our kid up), waitress promptly seated us. We sat down, looked over the menu, told the waitress we needed a minute. 20 minutes pass, no waitress. Peep over the corner to where the music is playing, there's the waitress with whomever the party is (she doesn't notice us). She comes back about 5 minutes after, takes our order - carne asada and horchata to drink. Food gets out in about 5 minutes, steak was full of fatty areas and meat was burnt to a literal crunch, beans were lukewarm and flavorless, rice was hard and old, avocado was the only okay part of the dish, drink tasted like cheap horchata mix. After attempting to stomach down this meal, the cashier (a lovely old man) handed us our ticket, which we payed for. We dipped RIGHT OUTTA THERE.

1/5 don't even...

One of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever been too, and I recently moved here from southern California! Don't let the simple aesthetic fool you, the menu has a ton of great options, large yet reasonable portion sizes, and great authentic food and drink! They also had sandia (watermelon agua fresca)! Which I don't find most places. I had the birria plate and it was so tender and delicious- a little spicy, but a consistent spicy, not a building kind. My partner had the shrimp tilapia plate and wow were they both perfectly cooked! I'm so happy to have found such good, authentic Mexican food, and especially so close to home. I can't wait to go back and try something else! Update 10/23: Great jamaica and some of the best pastor I've ever had!

After a while of going here, I noticed that they manipulated the cost of my food. The register they use is completely manual and old school. They put in the prices as they see fit. There is no POS system and no itemized receipt they provide. I'm very disappointed, it feels like they do this a lot. I got the same exact order several times, and the price was different depending on who rings me up. I noticed several dollars (not including tips) added on from the price I saw at the register even. The young man with long hair rings up properly; however, the older gents that work there change the prices to juice up the numbers. I'll no longer be going here.

This is a fairly nice spot. All of the food is really good. Our tacos came out pretty fast and were delicious. The chips and particularly salsa stole the show though; it was very flavorful and actually quite spicy! The atmosphere and service are pretty laid back. It seems to be family owned and run. The best part are the really low prices. My bill came out to just over $10 for a single person for three tacos and a beer. I have easily spent three times the amount on myself at places like bartaco for the same amount of food.
