Saw a review of Everest Restaurant and Bar and saw they served Nepali, Indian, and Bhutanese cuisines. I’ve never had Nepali food and looked forward to learning how different it was from Indian foods. My server Sushmita took my drink order, and I wanted to try a Gorkha Beer from Nepal. Sadly, they were out of Gorkha so I went with Taj Mahal beer from India…a very good lager. I wanted to try a variety of different items and informed Sushmita my spice level was mild, so I ordered the following:

Chicken Momo JHOL. I’m still not sure if this is a soup or a dumpling stew. The Momo are pretty big, and there were eight of them in this dish. I would rank this “soup” as one of the best soups I’ve ever enjoyed and would order this again and make this my meal!

The Lamb Thali is a platter made up of several different dishes which are supposed to create a balanced meal. I cannot remember what Sushmita called each little cup of food or sauce on the tray but the lamb was to be eaten with one, two, or many of the side sauces or garnishments. The lamb was slightly overcooked but wasn’t tough and overall this was still a good dish and an experience in itself. I did figure out the small round ball is the dessert item called Gulab Jamun…OMG it was rich, sweet, and delicious.

The place is not much to look at on the inside but it is clean, and while Sushmita and I may have experienced some communication issues, she took great care of me. There are a few more interesting noodle dishes here I would love to try on...

The food here was AMAZING. I'm not positive what the differences are between Nepalese and Indian food but they seem quite similar and I have loved Indian food since the first time I ate it back in the 90s. That being said, I can't remember a time when I had better Indian/Nepalese food. It is THAT good here.

The ambiance isn't like a typical restaurant. It's kind of like a small club (dance floor, stage, bar) and you can see right into the office. I wouldn't say it's a fancy place, but that's not a bad thing as long as you aren't expecting it to be.

We ordered the johl momos as an appetizer and there was a ton of flavor. It was the first time I've ever had momos and it will definitely not be the last. For dinner we were each planning on ordering separate curries but the server said one would be enough for the both of us so we ended up ordering just the lamb saag which was delicious as well. We really appreciated him letting us know one was enough because he was right and it fed us both. We ordered the chicken nugget kids meal and the fries were surprisingly good.

The server was very kind and accommodating. I love spicy food but my wife doesn't. Since we were sharing everything the server brought out the spicy ingredients separately so I could add them to my food and my wife could have a milder flavor. Also, as I mentioned before, he let us know one curry would probably feed us both.

I highly recommend this place and will definitely be going back when we are in...

TLDR: Great food, slightly odd vibe, awful service. Will probably get it togo on the future.

Been here a couple of times. The food is excellent. Top tier Indian/Chinese/himalyan country fusion. The vibe is a bit odd like the place can't decide if it wants to be a restaurant or a hole in the wall bar with a pool table and some arcade games hidden near the bathrooms and a small stage with instruments set up for live music.

The service however, was really bad. From wrong drinks and items to forgotten items. Some places the servers hover over you every few minutes, here the opposite is true, even when it's slow, they'll basically ignore you when your drink runs out or you need their attention. They also all kinda take care of all the tables together but don't communicate with each other, so I ordered some stuff togo while we were finishing up and it got set on the bar and no one thought to check to see if I'd gotten it for over 45 minutes. Another time, my friends and I tried to order a round of green tea shots which are very simple to make(4 basic ingredients) and we were just told that they couldn't do it and we had to order straight liquor for shots.

So, if bad service is a deal breaker, get it togo(but check it before you leave) The steamed and chili momos and most of the other stuff is...

Really, really enjoyed their Momos. If you've ever had Asian dumplings, both steamed and fried, then you can skip over those options and go straight for the last two options - jhol or chilli. The jhol version is basically an upgraded version of the steamed momos sitting in a bowl of homemade spicy sauce/soup. The chilli is the upgraded version of the fried that's been stir-fried with mixed vegetables and spices and presented to you on a hot plate. Both of them are delicious, but I'm fonder of the jhol. Their chicken pakora is also pretty good (spicy as well, and comes with a cool chutney to help douse the fire). There is only one complaint that I have about the place - with only one server for the entire area, sometimes she gets swamped and takes a little longer to get around to what you've requested. If you're the type to drink a lot during mealtimes, I recommend you ask for multiple glasses (or the whole pitcher XD) to save time waiting to flag the server down for a refill.
