TL;DR Perfect if you love inconsistent, overpriced food and inattentive wait staff.
I've been eating at Las Palmas in one location or another for the past 25 years. It's been a staple Mexican restaurant here in Nashville and while never considered to be an authentic experience, it was always consistent and affordable. Not the case anymore. The food isn't necessarily bad, it's just very Americanized, not consistent and overpriced. (Almost every item on the menu is about $3.00-$4.00 more than the same item at other comparable restaurants because of the location.)
The service however, IS consistent. (and not in a good way.)
All sorts of little annoyances that add up to a very meh experience-
*Changing the menu. Again. Scaling it down while increasing the prices. Again.
*Bringing one 3 ounce dish of salsa and a small basket of chips for a table of 6, then having to ask repeatedly for more while we waited 30 minutes for our food.
*Asking for no rice, beans, or tortillas with fajitas, requesting salad instead and being brought literally the exact same little portion of guacamole, pico, and sour cream as others at the table.
*Getting rid of salt/pepper on the tables. (Seriously?!)
*One of the worst low carb margaritas I've ever had. Seriously AWFUL. (Yeah, yeah, I'm on the keto thing. I probably should have known better but there was literally no other option outside of straight liquor. š)
*Getting attitude from the server because he didn't remember who ordered what and we weren't immediately able to respond when he was barking out the orders at us.
*Not being given silverware after the food being served and asking our server. Eventually had to walk up and ask the cashier.
*Our server just ghosting us towards the end of the meal and having to wait 15 minutes for the check.
I didn't even take a picture of my food for this review, that's how underwhelming it was. Almost ALL of the issues with the food could be overlooked if they had great service, but they don't.
There's a lot of options for good, consistent Mexican food with a pleasant dining experience here in Nashville. Sadly, Las Palmas is no longer...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad a horrible experience today I placed an order french fries when the fries arrive to my table their was a very small portion so I asked my waiter what size was the fries he told me that it was children size I then asked him do they have another side because my portion was very small I've been here before and my portion has been larger he said no that's the only size that it comes in so I ask to speak to the manager so upon the arrival of the manager you can tell the frustration was already on his face towards the issue because of his attitude. So when speaking to the manager i stated that I've been there before the portion was a nice size he then stated to me thats the only size they have I said Sir I can't just can't pay over $2 for this amount of fries and it's not that many McDonald's gives you more fries Eric the manager had a very bad attitude words were exchanged I asked for my bill and I left upon leaving out of the door I asked the gentleman at the front if they have a corporate number once again with Snappy very nasty the manager Eric at once walk to the front door to make sure the gentleman at the front cash register will not answer my question being very sarcastic says I corporate is Las pamas and we don't have a number. To the manager Eric you have to be very careful and cautious who you're dealing with because I own a business myself and I always try to make sure I treat my customers right so my customers can return in this situation I would never visit or support a Las Palmas Restaurant anymore due to your characteristic far as a manager and not being friendly not being understanding not being compassionate about your job may God bless you that you have a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFor years, Las Palmas has been our go to for excellent service and quality of food. Tonight was a huge disappointment. Our server, Tito, did not seem very knowledgable about the menu when we asked questions. He appeared to be bothered by them. When we were served our food, the plates were placed on the eating utensils and no effort was made to straighten the plated for presentation. We were not asked how we liked the food or if we wanted to order anything else. We were never offered refills on our water or soft drinks. When we did ask for refills on our soft drinks, they were only partially filled. The food itself was fresh but completely lacked any flavor. While conversing after dinner, we were given our checks and asked if we wanted to pay now. After Tito brought us our receipts he asked if we were leaving and then proceeded to remove our glasses when one of the people in our group was still drinking it. He started sweeping around our table. We have NEVER received such rude treatment from a server in any Nashville establishment! Our experience with the lackluster food and the particularly poor quality of service at this visit has left us extremely disappointed and left such a negative impression that we will not be returning to this rebranded Las Palmas location. Horrible experience with what was once a...
