We didn't get a chance to try the food the service was so bad. We walk in and are immediately seated which was great, there was only a few tables there and at first it felt nice. We were given our menus and waters then that is where the evening took a turn. The menu is about 10 pages long which is fine. They immediately came back to the table and asked us what we wanted to drink, we asked for a moment to look over the menu and within a 5 minute grace period the person waiting on us came back twice and seemed annoyed and agitated that we wanted a grace period to settle and look over the menu. The third time around we gave him a few items that we wanted to start off with and he immediately told us that we didn't want certain items and that we couldn't order at a certain heat level which apon asked we stated "spicy" We shrug it off and finish with our order including drinks and when the drinks arrived he gave us different drinks stating that we wouldnt enjoy what we ordered and would enjoy his recommendation instead. Then proceeded to fully open up the straws and place them into the plastic cups. My fiance and I decided we weren't going to dine there after the experience. Overall of I come into your establishment let me order what I want and if it's to spicy or if I don't enjoy it then it's on me. Over...
Read moreFor me, “food is more than just a meal it’s part of the overall experience” especially when it’s tied to a special occasion or a gathering with friends. Unfortunately, our recent experience with Sankalp, a new restaurant in town, was quite disappointing.
We placed a to-go order with high expectations, but both the quality and quantity of the food fell short. Out of the three appetizers we tried, none lived up to the mark. The Masala Boondi lacked any real spice or flavor it was soft, bland, and cold even though we started eating within just 15 minutes of pick-up. The French Fries were soggy and tasteless, and the Chicken 65 not only had poor flavor but also came in a very small portion.
We called to share our feedback directly with the owner, hoping for a constructive conversation and compensating our bad experience. Instead, we were met with a dismissive and rude attitude, they seemed like they didn’t trust my review(maybe she felt as if this food was defining our life lol) which was especially surprising coming from a new restaurant trying to build its reputation. Sadly, we ended up discarding the food and making last-minute alternate arrangements. We are waiting if Sankalp Nashville is really interested or bothered about our bad experience...
Read moreThe reviews so far had been hit or miss and we live close by enough that we decided to just go and hope for the best.
We were greeted by many people as soon as we walked in the door. We were seated and served water almost immediately upon entering. While waiting for our final guest to arrive we ordered a Gobi Manchurian for the table and our server suggested the Masala Crispy Corn appetizer that we ended up liking as much if not more than the Gobi!
My only critique was the slightly long wait to order our main courses once our final guest arrived. However this was an entirely reasonable wait due to the large number of guests they had at that time and we were not inconvenienced.
The food came out and was wonderful! Everything was correct as we'd ordered it and it was a yummy meal for everyone. The entree's came with rice and we each were so full by the end we ended up taking leftovers home all around.
Before getting the check the manager insisted on having us try their fried golden Jalebi on the house! That was the PERFECT end to our dinner and we will for sure be coming back in the...
