First time visiting, I live in Detroit, googled best in Nashville this place popped up based on the reviews I went and was very disappointed. My guess the reviews are from family members or church members. Anyways I order the chicken plate with spicy sauce, thinking" Nashville hot" no it was, Nashville Not, no heat at all im guessing they don't have white meat because I received dark without an option. It was not good. Fries undercooked, whitening fish sandwich bones all threw it. Wow never in my life had I had to stop biting a fish sandwich to remove bones. Then it was fishy if I wanted a fishy taste I would of chose catfish. Bake beans was straight out the can maybe some s&p added nothing special. The green beans were the only thing worth writing home about. Lastly tht peach cobbler just throw it away flour and peach is all I tasted. Never again and I don't recommend this place to anyone. I arrived at 1130am they open at 11am , on a Saturday its not like we came during rush hours or right before they...
Read moreThis is THE BEST fish sandwich in Nashville. Hands down. I've lived in Nashville for 30 years and consider myself a fish sandwich connoisseur. I tried TJ's years ago and couldn't really remember much about that experience. I'm so glad I went back. The fish is seasoned so perfectly. Not salty, not bland, it's just right. I went through the drive through and when I opened up the box and broke me off a lil piece of fish I knew I had to park somewhere so I could enjoy it hot and fresh. Every bite was so on point, including the cajun fries. I ordered mine with mustard, pickles, and onion. There was a perfect balance of everything on the sandwich. They put two hefty pieces of fish on my sandwich. It cost me $9 and on God it was worth every bite. I hope they don't ever change their recipe and I'll be back real soon. (I should have uploaded a pic because it was beautiful, but after the first lil piece I didn't have...
Read moreMy husband and I tried TJ’s for the first time & to say the least it was a disappointing experience. I’m from Birmingham, Alabama & one thing I know for sure is the catfish they sale isn’t real catfish, it’s Swai fish. A lot of the Chinese restaurants serve this fish. I think it’s awful that you’re a black restaurant & selling imitation catfish/ swai due to it being cheaper. The fish is awful tasting and fishy. I have been eating catfish all my life & I do know the difference. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to this establishment. If you aren’t going to sale catfish at least put Swai fish on your menu so people can have the option to not buy. Definitely not worth the hype of being #1 fish sandwhich in Nashville… Don’t waste...
