Honey what can I say that would do this place justice????? This is what I can say 10s across the board and then 10s on top of that!
Although a native; I spent quite a bit of time in the DMV and this place could give the area a run for its money.
Riddim n Spice you owe me nothing! Plus I discovered you have a brunch, you will see me soon again.
I ordered the Large Dark Jerk Chicken. My sides were macaroni, cabbage, and rice and peas. Whoever’s mother gave the recipes, she needs to be honored because there is a special place in heaven for her. The macaroni is slamming, I didn’t even have to add pepper. The cabbage has the right amount of crisp to it, but not to the point you think you’re eating coleslaw, but at the same time enough softness that it’s enjoyable. The rice and peas are fye, you can taste the coconut milk, as if they went to Jamaica and climbed a tree and poured the coconut directly from its source. That jerk chicken, listen to me the young man added the sauce and just a smidge of heat for me, I thought I was in Montego Bay or Negril. Fye!!!!!!! My friends ordered several things as well from the egg rolls to the shrimp tacos and they tore it all up! My friend and her husband had the rum cake and she said it was so good, keep in mind her silly self thought it was cornbread 😂. Her husband cleaned his plate and left nothing but bones that weren’t fit for a dog 😂. His jerk was sauceless, so they do provide options if you are not into the sauce.
Now let’s get into the Rum Room! The young ladies up there work hard and are extra sweet! They have a full bar and specialty cocktails. We went on a Saturday, but they do offer a happy hour during the week. If you like rum definitely try the Bad Beach, I had that. I enjoy tequila. I tried the Guavarita, it’s more Rita than Guava fair warning lol. The bar has just about anything you can possibly think and drink of and the bartenders make sure you are satisfied.
Music was amazing and they play a mix of genres. The crowd is grown and everyone is there to have a great time. They have security inside and outside so safety is a priority. Parking was decent. Atmosphere on point. Everyone is nice.

Read moreUpon entering the restaurant, you are greeted by a bright yet warm decor and the smells of good food. Now the staff, especially the scintillating star of the eatery, Luz, made us feel like we were regulars, made suggestions about the brunch and had a good ol’ kiki with us like we were old friends. We also got a sneak peek into the new bar opening soon.
The cuisine was nothing less than delicious. You could literally taste the pride and love put into each dish for their Sunday Brunch, which I highly recommend you frequent. Our table had the oxtail, jerk chicken (bone in) & waffles and the shrimp and cornmeal. The oxtail was tender, spicy and was just beautiful to behold. The jerk chicken was moist and tender, not dried out at all and the buttermilk waffles crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, like me. And lastly, the shrimp was tender and not overcooked which happens a lot and the cornmeal aka grits, was silky and tasty. I was provided with their own in-house scotch bonnet sauce. It was definitely spicy as it should have been but there was the lovely sweet and acidic note of mango in it that just hit the right spot. I say bottle it up and sell it!
The ambiance of the restaurant is vibrant, inviting and ever so comfortable. The al fresco dining on the patio is wonderful, just as colorful as the inside. Moreover, the place was SPOTLESS. Whenever visiting a new restaurant, that the first encounter we all have and cleanliness is next to hygiene and avoidance of dodgy tummies. I WOULD eat off the floor here. It’s hard to keep such a bright color palette looking fresh and clean and this place definitely does it.
I mean if Guy Fieri promotes this place (they have a sign and an episode to prove it), you must check this place out if you are a lover of Caribbean cuisine. If you like good food, ambiance, charismatic staff and one gulp mango mimosas (I almost treated it as a shot after the first taste), this is your place. Very highly...
