LaMar's Donuts and Coffee — Restaurant in Nebraska

They have some of the best tasting dough for their donuts.

Right now you can walk in and order or order online. I did online ordering. We did run into issues as the coffee my friend ordered was not ready when we got there and she had missing items from her order so had to pick new ones when she got there. They do not update their online ordering so be prepared to not get the exact item you wanted. If you are picky you might want to wait to order when you get there. If you aren't, then it won't matter.

I ordered the managers special and got a few repeats. If you want more variety ask for no repeats. There is a box where you can make some requests. I can't say if they will follow them as I only put that I wanted a bismark (which I did get. Its also clearly one of the managers favorite items) The managers box is filled mostly with extra large pieces. I'm a small eater, so I probably wouldn't go for it again. I ended up sharing with others because I wouldn't have been able to finish it in time before all the doughnuts were stale. Its great for big eaters!

We noticed a discrepancy with filling. Some had way more and some had much less so there was a lack of consistency. My favorite was the bismark with the custard but I was disappointed with the lack of filling.

I haven’t been to LeMar‘s in quite some time and wanted to try it again. Unfortunately my experience was well below my expectations. When I got there they were incredibly busy …around 10 people ahead of me in line at 9:30 on a Saturday. This is to be expected, of course it’s busy. But it’s how you handle high-volumes of customers that really sets you apart in customer service. Unfortunately it took a long time. The employees were almost lackadaisical in how quickly they were moving.

When we finally got to the counter, they didn’t have as much variety as I expected. They did have one of my favorite donuts, an old-fashioned. But I was disappointed with how sweet it was. I’ve had many other renditions and this is possibly one of the worst. It was so sickeningly sweet I couldn’t even eat the whole donut. Several other of their donuts had an off taste to me as well. As a self/dubbed donut connoisseur I was surprised again at just how sweet they were.

The interior of the location needs some TLC. If you look down on the ground especially near the bathroom or kitchen area there’s really dirty door jams, things that have lots of scuffs and stains on them so they appear dirty, even if they aren’t. They were not wiping down tables at all in the morning so everyone that came to sit down pretty much had to wipe off the last customers crumbs and icing streaks. It just didn’t make for a very good experience dining in.

It's located at the rear end of nowhere but it's definitely worth the drive. They have an incredible variety of donuts. On the weekends you have to get there when they first open or you're going to be waiting in a long line. My favorite is the chocolate fluff filled LaMar's bar. I actually quit going to this shop and gave it a negative review on FB because I kept getting them home and discovering there was only a tiny bit of filling in each donut. I finally went back last summer and had the same experience. I called the manager pretty ticked off and asked (politely) what the deal was. She explained that the chocolate fluff was so thick it was difficult to pump into the bar because the pump would lose its prime and the employee would think they were filling the bars but they really weren't. I could understand that because I've had the same experience with grease guns. She said if I came back she would replace my purchase with fresh bars but I explained that it's an hour round trip for me and she actually had my replacement order delivered to my house! Unbelievable! I only regret that I have deleted my Facebook account so I can't correct that old review. I hope this one...
