I wish I could give zero stars. Let me start by saying this was my second visit to this establishment. The first visit was at lunch time, the food was good and so was the service. However last night was absolutely horrible. Look I'm not a complainer I never have been. The place was busy, which I understand. I also understand being under staffed. However the way we were treated was just unacceptable.
It took 10 minutes for the waitress to even approach us and ask for our drink order, we waited forever for salads and soup to come. We asked for another basket of bread and the waitress acted like we had asked her to cut off her arm and serve it to us. When the food finally came my mother in laws food was freezing cold, and her pasta was completely dried out with the sauce crusted on the noodles, my father in law never got his side of fries and his calzone was cold, my husband got a buffalo chicken pizza, it was soggy and covered in blue cheese, which was not mentioned anywhere on the menu, the friend we were with was the only person who got his meal warm and complete. My food didnt come for another 20 minutes after everyone else's. The waitress never came to check on us so that we could address the issues. She dropped my food off said it had fallen on the floor and walked away! At this point everyone in our party was over it. My father in law approached the hostess since the waitress was no where to be found. He asked to speak to manager and was told that she was to busy to come speak with us. The friend we with then asked for a manager and she spoke with him briefly and told us that she would be back in 3 minutes. She NEVER returned. They gave our friend a $50.00 gift card, but nothing for the two other couples that were with him. They couldn't even get the checks right for us to leave.
It was the absolute worst restaurant experience I have ever had. The staff was rude, and the manager clearly shouldn't be a manager. I will never go back here. Instead I will travel to Vinny's in Ellwood (his brothers restaurant) the waitresses are always great, the food is fantastic, and if ever there is an issue it is...
Read moreThe Polenta was dry and bland. The server took our appetizer order and immediately came back asking if we were ready to place our dinner order. I asked the server " it won't all come out at once will it?" and she assured me it wouldn't. Well, we weren't even done with the appetizers and here comes the salad. I Hadn't even taken one bite of the salad and my dinner entree was being served. She hadn't prebussed the table, so there wasn't room to set the entree! I asked her where the Alfredo sauce was that was supposed to be on my side of fettuccine that came with the Chicken Marsala. She said she would get me some. Comes out 15 minutes later and says they are making it fresh and she will bring it out when it's done. She then brings a small plastic cup (salad dressing) container with my Alfredo sauce in it. Really???? I had her box up the entree, as I hadn't even eaten the salad yet. Then when the check comes I was charged for the Alfredo sauce!! I brought it to the servers attention and she proceeded to argue with me that my fettuccine was dry but that I did ask for more sauce on it. I said there wasn't ANY sauce on it and she argued that there was. I said would you like to see it it?? I can open my to go box and show you. What a Fiasco this dinner was!! There were nine of us friends at this dinner and had made the reservation a week prior. I was excited to try a new place and looking forward to a nice dinner out with friends. I had gone on their website to peruse the menu and check it out before going. What a disappointment this place was! Horrible food and bad service. There are many Great Italian restaurants in this area. Sadly, FOUR Is NOT One of them...... I took many photos of the food and our table but do not care to allow MAPS permissions to my camera, or I...
Read moreBreakfast lasagna! Left over from Dinner at "Four" on Wilmington rd. in New Castle couple days ago. The lasagna is pretty unique, it has six pasta sheets, very little sauce or ricotta, and sandwiched between layers 1&2 and layers 4&5 is ground sausage and mozzarella, no sauce. So it's like a pasta grilled cheese sandwich, with some other layers with sausage meatballs and very little sauce. The top of the lasagna has more mozz and then a nice amount of sauce.
I'm guessing the person who came up with this blueprint doesn't like lasagna where the layers slide off of each other from too much sauce. Don't know why the "No Ricotta" policy. If it has any ricotta, it's hidden away pretty well. Lasagna overall was good, but it was a LOT of sheets of pasta. And NO sauce inside the thing, just on the top of it. And definitely no layers of ricotta. But overall, good. Entrees come ala carte for the most part, $3 up-charge for a salad. 16oz draft Blue Moons are $7.25 a pop, and dinner did not come with bread or salad.
I am going to hit "Four" restaurant again to try the pizza, "Four" has a large selection of grilled panini and pizzas. And the pizzas especially have a lot of standard models with obligatory Italian sounding names and set ingredients. I liked "Four", but would not get lasagna myself. It was wife's order anyway, I only finished it off this morning. When I ordered, I got chicken Marsala, which came with some excellent linguine. The Marsala sauce wasn't sweet, had a nice amount of mushrooms. The chicken was very very good. A breast that was halved for thickness, and cut into decent sized portions (you get two) served atop the linguine and then covered with the Marsala wine sauce. I finished my Chicken Marsala and linguine before leaving. Easily. Overall...
