I only discovered this store a couple months ago and ever since I love making a trip here when the opportunity arises. I live about a half hour away and try to make it there at the very least once a month now. They’ve got a great variety of foods and such that aren’t usually in your typical grocery store(s). Some things change and aren’t always there, so if you see it, grab it, because there is no guarantee it’ll be there next time you go back. The prices are pretty good too and they have a contest of sorts that you put part of your receipt into after you check out. Your receipt shows your savings on it and if you were to win, you’d win the amount you saved. They also have an app and when you first sign up you’ll get a $5 off coupon. But it does expire shortly after sign up, so be sure you plan ahead before getting the app so you don’t lose your $5 off. I noticed I had another coupon offer notification from the app a couple weeks ago, but when i checked for it before going yesterday it was gone. So it seems they are on time limits before expiring. At any rate, I highly recommend going at least once and checking them out at least one time. I hope you love the store as much as I do. With the rising costs of everything now days, I’ll take any opportunity to save on essentials and necessities especially when it comes to healthy eating. Oh and the shredded cheese pictured is made in the USA and comes from the cheese state, Wisconsin. It’s so yummy compared to some of the other cheeses you buy at your typical big named grocery stores. They also have a variety of non grocery items too. Go check them out next time you’re in the new castle area, or plan a trip if you’re not close by. I’d love if they would open one in or near slippery rock area. It would be a huge vast improvement, that’s for sure. Grocery stores are seriously lacking in slippery rock where we are stuck with the one and only big named GE that’s so expensive and it’s such a small store with not much variety at all. It baffles me as to why there aren’t more options when it comes to groceries, especially for...
Read moreI was excited about this store opening. Overall there are some great finds for non-food related items. I bought a lunchbox, two sweaters and will be back for socks and decor!
I would not go here for my normal grocery shopping as my family is picky when it comes to brand name items. I’m personally excited to try the Italian products!
The reason I am putting 3 stars is because of the manager working on 10/31/23. One of the cashiers got stuck on the register and asked another cashier for help. When they went to the office for help the manager working couldn’t be bothered she didn’t come out and left the cashiers to figure it out themselves. This was very disheartening. As a manager you should support your employees. As a Manager I’d like to share my feedback in hopes that the manager will do better going forward. Of course this is if you’re inclined to hear it… Starting a new job can be both exciting and overwhelming, you should be readily available to support your team every step of the way. To build morale you should ensure there’s a collaborative and inclusive culture, and you should believe in fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute their best. Additionally this was an opportunity to address the customer who was a very patient older gentleman. A simple apology for the inconvenience would have sufficed.
5 stars to Branden (I believe was his name, apologies if I got it wrong) you went above and beyond to help your colleagues. I hope you’re a Lead Cashier regardless you should consider a move...
Read moreWell the big grand opening came. I decided to check it out around 5:30 PM because I thought, “surely, whatever chaos they experienced, it has to be better by now.” I walked up and down the aisles the best I could. The chaos had not abided.
I picked up two cans of energy drinks because it was nearly impossible to navigate. I was patient though because I know how hectic it can be at a grand opening because of prior retail experience. I did my best to check out all the aisles and was intrigued by the price points, but my desire to go back was sapped at the end
Four checkouts for a grand opening. Four checkouts period.
I wouldn’t mind this so much except for the fact I happened to be standing in one of the 40 foot long lines and overheard a discussion being held between three, presumably, Grocery Outlet corporate people.
The one comment I heard that made me put my stuff back was “at least the carts are small”
And then they all laughed and smiled like idiots while the lines meandered around the front of the store and blocked all flow of traffic.
No thanks. This company is clearly run by people that view people as cattle.
Oh, and please, I encourage someone at Grocery Outlet to look through the footage of opening day around that time. Find those guys and at least coach them on how to behave on the floor. I know they probably didn’t go over that in their college...
