How Sweet it is Ice cream & more — Restaurant in Nesquehoning

We are local to the area and decided to give this place a shot. We were walking to the business and at the window I saw before even going in an employee with their legs on the counter by the store front window while playing on the phone. There were no customers in there at all and the tables were dirty. There were a total of 4 employees there. The main thing and it grossed me out besides the dirty tables the workers were handling our ice cream orders not one had gloves on. They handle cash, throw out garbage and use the bathroom and whatever else they do. You don't know if they are actually washing their hands. They touched the cones, scooped the ice cream and handled everything with their bare hands. That did it for me, I'm sure they won't care about my review but that was the first and last time I will go to that establishment. Good luck with them hopefully the owner or management will see this and fix this issue. I'm sure if the food and health department were to pop in they would be given a fine. as a local i really wanted to love this place but ive tried it twice and the second time was it for me. first time I had gotten a sundae and it was very small, didnt ask me about curtain ingredients I wanted on it or did not want, so it wasnt exactly what I wanted. second time I decided to not go with the ice cream scoops and get a shake. I did not get a shake. I got borderline chocolate milk, did not have the consistency of a shake and was actual liquid. i took three sips trying to enjoy it but i threw it out and went to the woods truck to get my shake instead. i was so disappointed. along with that the boy that scooped the ice cream i wanted in the shake complained at which one i wanted because it was "the hardest one to scoop". i was very annoyed at him and was uncalled for complaining to a paying customer? also, this might just be a personal preference but 3-4 people saying hello to me walking through the door at the same time was very uncomfortable, it felt weird and uncanny, I wanted to run away...

Cute place. Parking may be the biggest downfall…as street parking is limited, and if you park in the paved area, you’re likely to block someone’s personal garage exit. Midday is okay, but I see how this could be an issue later in the day when business is likely to pick up. The workers were very friendly. Yes, they were on their phones…but that’s what teenagers do. They were attentive to us as customers, and the floors were clean. I wouldn’t expect them to stare as we indulge in our ice cream. What more can you ask for ? The hotdogs were 👍🏽....
