The story behind the development of this family-centric business is awe-inspiring and that itself should be captivating enough to draw customers in here. But add that with quality food and (weekend) entertainment that is no short of spectacular, what you are left with is this restaurant that locals and visitors shouldn't miss out on. Located just a couple miles South of the infamous Las Vegas strip (off of Las Vegas Blvd), it's not far from the majority of the popular hotels/casinos - so traveling here in a rideshare or taxi is inexpensive and highly worth it. But unfortunately, locals like me that live in the far Northwest part of the city, it can be a little challenging to commute here, but I enjoyed it during the couple visits thus far.

My family and I initially tried this restaurant back on 25 Aug 2019. I recall this visit mainly because of how we ended up at this restaurant - let's just say that it wasn't a typical "search for a new restaurant to try" type of visit; nor was it a, "Hey look, let's go try that restaurant," and then quickly veer off the road. Our initial visit was satisfactory, and I think it was due to the fact that before we moved to Las Vegas, we were never exposed to a lot of different Italian restaurants. We were accustomed to that all-famous "franchise chain" Italian restaurants that happen to serve AYCE salad and breadsticks. Believe it or not, it wasn't until the pandemic where we ordered delivery from one of the nearest Italian restaurants from our house, that we ventured away from the normalcy of Italian cuisine (spaghetti, lasagna, etc.)..hence my introduction to cioppino! Fast forward to years later, we've experienced many different Italian entrées and the majority of them were wonderful.

My wife and I made a reservation (which I highly recommend to everyone) and decided to revisit this restaurant on 9 Mar 2024 since we've refined our palate and I believe enhanced our taste receptors since our initial visit. When we walked in, we were nicely greeted by the hostesses and I quickly remembered seeing all the historical pictures/décor from our first visit, which is entertaining to look at while you're waiting for your table (we arrived earlier than our reservation). When we got to our table, it was perfect because we had a great view of the live entertainment and the booth itself felt private (I couldn't see or hear the folks next to us). Our server, Kodie, was phenomenal; throughout the evening he busted his tail off ensuring customers, to include our table, were doing great and he never showed signs of slowing down. He and his staff that were assisting him were highly efficient, very attentive, and most of all, professional with his/their customer service skills.

The drinks we chose to accompany our dinner were the Milano Mule and Sicilian Lemon Drop. Of noteworthy mention, that Milano Mule was one of the best Mules I have ever drank. For our dinner, we ordered Funghi di Maria, Insalata di Caesar, Seafood Fra Diavolo (SFD), Chef Maria's Saltimbocca, and Italian Cream Cake (for dessert). Everything was extraordinary! This restaurant's SFD is easily in my top 3 cioppino-style Italian dishes I've had in my life (well, since mid 2019). Also, my wife really enjoyed the Saltimbocca which I thought was prepared magnificently (see attached pictures). I also thought the Italian Cream Cake was excellent and that's coming from someone who's not a fan of desserts, nonetheless, lemon-inspired desserts.

The price-to-quantity/quality ratio is impeccable and I really appreciate this business supporting the active men and women of the Armed Forces to include its Veterans - highly respectable! Overall, this restaurant is outstanding...I have nothing negative to mention. I profoundly recommend this restaurant to all locals and visitors - you will not be...

A Taste of Italy: Christmas Dinner at The Bootlegger Italian Bistro

Tucked away near the South Premium Outlets in the vibrant heart of Las Vegas, The Bootlegger Italian Bistro is a gastronomic gem where tradition seamlessly intertwines with sophistication. On a magical Christmas evening, my family and I embarked on a delightful culinary journey that not only transported us straight to Italy but also allowed us to feel the energy and excitement of this vibrant city—a perfect symphony of warm hospitality, authentic flavors, and a beautifully serene ambiance.

Its timeless allure immediately enveloped us as we stepped inside the bistro. The soft, golden lighting warmed the richly decorated interiors while the enchanting sounds of a live harpist filled the air, creating an ethereal atmosphere that not only complemented this festive occasion but also transported us to a different world. It quickly became evident that we were not just about to enjoy a meal; we were about to immerse ourselves in an extraordinary dining experience.

Our culinary adventure began with a carefully curated selection of appetizers that set a remarkable tone for the evening. The Insalata di Caesar was a refreshing classic elevated to new heights, featuring crisp, verdant romaine lettuce generously bathed in a tangy Caesar dressing, adorned with delicate shavings of aged Parmesan cheese and crunchy, golden croutons—a true celebration of simplicity executed to perfection. The Bootlegger Hot Mix Antipasto soon followed, a vibrant and mouthwatering medley of baked clams, tender fried calamari, plump shrimp, and sumptuous eggplant rollatini. Each bite was a revelation, brilliantly harmonized by a light marinara sauce that wove the flavors together in a delightful balance of textures and tastes.

When it came time for the entrées, the offerings were spectacular. I opted for the 16oz New York Strip Steak, which arrived at my table beautifully seared to a perfect medium-rare, its juicy, tender interior a testament to the chef's expertise. Crowned with a rich, velvety herb butter that melted into each luscious bite, this dish celebrated indulgence. Accompanying it were vibrant spears of asparagus, their bright green hue adding a pop of color alongside heavenly creamy, silky mashed potatoes.

My brother indulged in the house specialty, Seafood Fra Diavolo, a dazzling symphony of the ocean's finest offerings. It included fresh clams, tender calamari, succulent jumbo prawns, and mussels, all artfully served "cioppino" style over perfectly al dente linguine. The spicy tomato sauce provided a robust kick that tantalized the palate, dancing elegantly without overshadowing the natural sweetness of the seafood. This dish was a triumphant testament to balance and flavor, undeniably cementing its status as a must-try for any seafood lover.

The bistro's ambiance created an intangible magic throughout our evening. The restaurant's old-world charm, combined with the soothing, melodic strains of the harp, created a refined and intimate atmosphere—a rarity in the bustling energy of Las Vegas.

Every detail at The Bootlegger Italian Bistro contributed to an exquisite dining experience. From the attentive and knowledgeable service to the thoughtfully curated menu, which includes a wide range of Italian classics and innovative dishes, it was a splendid celebration of tradition and taste that left a lasting impression. This iconic eatery is nothing short of a hidden treasure for those yearning for a slice of Italy nestled in the desert.

My family and I decided to visit a local restaurant for a pleasant dine-in experience... I'll be honest, because let's face the facts here, I'm certain I'm incapable of anything but the absolute truth at this point, given my history. Some may love or hate me for it, but I always believed in the honesty policy thing... so much easier to do too, just be honest people! Anyway, I digress.... So, where were we.... Ah yes, the Bootlegger! Well, the honest thing iss this - how hard is it lately to have a meal without anything going awry?! Seriously, there always seems to be something.... Well, NOT this time!!! You have NO idea HOW besides myself I was about our 5 star, no, wait - 100 star experience we had had!

This restaurant feels high end, the service is top notch, no doubt, and you can show up dressy or not! They will treat you right, regardless the attire!

They had a serenading pianist performing in the dining room, taking requests over and above what was necessary and (get this...) all on a TUESDAY night, live entertainment?!! I'm not kidding you! It was phenomenal.

Not even once did any of us have to request a refill, they were all over it! The best, literally BEST, service I've had since livng in Las Vegas... I moved here 20 years ago, so that's really saying something! Side story - I also worked in the restaurant business, so i notice everything.. On top of that, I hold very high expectations, having been raised in Beverly Hills, and once used to fine dining experiences, raised on them actually. All true! So, this was absolutely an amazing restaurant!

This place is family owned, had obviously quality and freshly prepared Italian cuisine within an ambiance that is comfortable, accommodating, and friendly, with live music and service you couldn't find anywhere else, even if you paid triple the price!

I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and my opinion was unanimous among everyone sharing the evening out. I am truly looking forward to visit The Bootlegger again and again in the near future!

Thanks for an amazing time! Thank you for having the BEST busser any of us have ever met, literally ever, like since forever! Thank you for entertaining us with your pianist who sang and played 3 Billy Joel songs when I asked if he would play one! Thanks for the polite and appropriately personable server who appeased every request, going over and above in taking care of our table... they made us something outside of what was offered in the menu, who does that?! Amazing! And thank you, well, just for really making the night feel like a special occasion, when in reality, it was a "just because" thing we decided to do randomly, without having an occasion... but, that's the beauty of it! The Bootlegger gives you a special occasion regardless of the date you decide dine at their sensational establishment! I really can't thank this place enough, if you haven't yet noticed! This never happens, that is such an accomplishment! Bravo Bootlegger!

I wish I spoke Italian to sum this up cleverly, however I only know how to say "ciao"... but not for long, that's a promise (unless of course it means both hello and goodbye in Italian, then I don't know how to make this sound clever anymore, but I hope you will know what I mean anyway, lol... just trust me, you'll love it). ...Oh oh, and the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake, and Italian Cream cake are both to die for! Order both, I'm...

**Rating: 5 stars** Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or indulging in a casual evening out, The Bootlegger Italian Bistro promises a memorable and delicious experience. I eagerly await my next visit, excited to explore more of their culinary gems.

Order both, I'm not kidding!
