Berkemann's Baker's Dozen — Restaurant in New Baden

I buy mini pies and creme puffs for my dad in the nursing home and for others there. My dad loves it! He has Alzheimer's, but he still recognizes the box. My sister brought my dad a long john with filling from a gas station and he knew the difference from the box and the taste and didn't like as much. We have him spoiled with this bakery. Prices are great, and very affordable. This place is an older building, but if it keeps the prices down I don't care if it is old as long as they keep making everything so delicious. We stopped by here on our way home from St.Louis and what a treasure this bakery is.The lady was very friendly,she was bringing a freshly just made tray of cream puffs out and my wife had to get one[ she said it was wonderful] I tried a pastry called an Elephant's Ear ,it was very light,crunchy and had pecans in it,very good, plus we bought a cinnamon roll cake for Saturday's breakfast. I have been coming to the bakery for a long time now. Love the cinnamon sugar donuts, Paul’s delights, and pizza dough!
