Fisherman's Market Seafood Outlet — Restaurant in New Bedford

Went in on Mother's Day with my kids to get some lobsters for dinner, and it wasn't busy at all. Watched the attendant pull the 8 lobsters I asked for and put them in bags. Was slowly looking at the rest of the cases to make sure that was all we wanted, and it was and we went to check out. The cashier was a different person and grabbed one bag from next to him. I assumed it was mine because no one else was there, we check out, I get home and there were only 7 Lobsters in there! 😡 I called, and the phone rang for 10 minutes, no answer. I emailed with photos of everything, no response. Not wasting my time or money here again. Way to disappoint a mom on mother's day. I heard from a friend this is a common scam, but I legitimately am not that desperate for lobster to scam anyone out of 1. That's ridiculous and stupid, when I can just go to market basket or wherever and buy another one. It's the fact of the matter that I don't want to be and shouldn't be paying for what I didn't get. So again, don't waste your time and money, go literally...

Far and away the best fish shop in New Bedford if not the whole South Coast. Prices are always good (especially so for scallops and lobsters.) Fish is really fresh. When you buy lobsters they're restocking the sales tanks with pallet movers which gives you a sense of the volume they sell.) You can't beat the prices and freshness on their scallops. Always dry scallops too. Keep an eye on their specials. In the fall you can sometime see lobster down around $4 to $5 a pound.

Only complaint is I wish they were open a bit later, perhaps on Friday nights. We're often heading by on the way to the islands and a 5 PM close is just too early. We still manage to get to them when we can though!

After this initial interaction below I was contacted by the company who were very apologetic about the error and explained they are working on being able to steam lobster for customers. Review updated

I emailed them earlier in week to ask if they could steam lobsters ( I have the email chain back and forth) I was told you had to order in person. I asked if I waited could they do them at that time and was told yes that it took under 20 minutes I went in this morning and they told me they “don’t steam lobsters”. I told them I had the email from them advising they would. Staff refused to even look at the email I received from them. I went to “Turks” who happily steamed the lobster...
