If you're looking for an authentic taste of Dominican cuisine, look no further than La Candela. This restaurant offers a delicious array of classic Dominican dishes, each bursting with flavor and prepared with care. From the moment you step inside, you'll feel right at home. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, combined with friendly and attentive service, make for a dining experience that is both comfortable and enjoyable. But it's the food that really steals the show at La Candela. Whether you're in the mood for savory meats, flavorful rice and beans, or crispy tostones, there is something on the menu to please every palate. The menu is diverse and offers a wide range of options, from traditional dishes to creative twists on classic favorites. One dish that is particularly popular among customers is the mofongo, a traditional Dominican dish made with mashed plantains and savory meat. The version served at La Candela is absolutely delicious, with perfectly cooked meat and plantains that are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. And the portions are generous, so you'll definitely leave feeling satisfied. The prices are also reasonable, making La Candela a great option for a delicious and affordable meal. Overall, if you're looking for some of the best Dominican food around, you can't go wrong with a visit to La Candela. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is inviting, and the service is top-notch. It's definitely a restaurant worth checking out.

This business just charged my child $28.20 for a simple plate of white rice, bean, chicken and salad. Didn't even gave her the receipt. When I called to ask why they changed her that much the lady I was speaking to gave the phone to some dude that was very rude just cause I asked why they change so much. He than gonna say they charger her $23 with a couple of cent like that was gonna fix the issue that they charging people way more they should for not so good food. I will be filing a complaint with MA BBB being that you wanna be nasty over simple questions. Chorros De Ladrones! And I'll advice Everyone to check they banks statements after going to this business or get the text alerts for their credit cards.

Stay away BEWARE. I ordered 7 bbq ribs with no sides. The worker hands me the food and said $27.00....yes $27.00! I immediately thought that was extremely overpriced but wasn't in the mood to cause a seen.

I didn't get a receipt either but I left feeling ripped off. We'll I got home and tried one and it was disgusting. I am certain they were cooked a day or even two days prior. Very very dry, semi hard, and ugly to look at.

Now I was in the mood. I tossed the remaining 6 in the trash. I checked my charge card and $30.50 was charged. I decided to call anonymously and asked how much the ribs were each. The man told me $3.00 (that's $21) Then I asked why I was told $27.00 and he told me it depends on the size of the rib....some are more! That's right he said that.

Then I asked why my card was charged $30.50 and he said that's with tax. Unbelievable huh? That doesn't even add up. Yes they just charge what they choose on a person to person basis ripping people and the state off.

Thus happened the previous time I was in there a few months before buy I figured it was a mere mistake but after reading reviews today and seeing other folks having the same thing happen to them well it is all done by design.

Please stay away and yes I will be reporting them to the better business bureau and tge attorney generals...

I visited La Candela on one of my trips to New Bedford. My husband and I were looking for a place to have a quick bite to eat. Came across La Candela as we were driving by. We decided to give it a try. I must say, we were glad we did. The food is outstanding. My husband had oxtails with white rice and I wanted to play it safe as I wasn’t sure what to expect and decided to get roasted chicken with some plantains. The food was delicious. I tried some of my husband’s food and vice versa. We also had empanadas and those too were delicious. The gentleman serving the food greeted us with such welcoming enthusiasm. He made us feel comfortable eating in. Although, the eating area needs some upgrades, that doesn’t impact the quality of the food. I highly recommend you trying La Candela’s Spanish food, you are guaranteed to return for more. I wish the owners lots of success and I look forward to going back when I visit...
