This review is a part of my quest of visiting all CT breweries. I've been to Alvarium before and my experience was consistently good.

The brewery is located in a separate building and has a big parking lot. The place is huge - it has a big indoor space, a smaller indoor private space and two patios. The brewery is decorated with beehive items. The food options are basic, but there are always food trucks on site.

I've tried all Alvarium beers - either on beer festivals, or during my brewery visits. And every time the beers were awesome. There is some style selection available - IPAs, Stouts, a lager, sours, hard seltzers. They also serve beer flights of 4 or 5 so you can try everything. The beers are not rotated often - the majority of the taplist was the same as the year before, but I believe they have a separate line for their experimental beers. I've enjoyed everything I tried during my visit. My favorites in the taproom were Camp Cluster (Imperial Stout) and "Pouring for the neighbors: Wicked Basic" (Spiced pumpkin beer), both have immensely rich and satisfying taste. But I also remember their limited editions of Clusternana (Imperial porter) and BABF Exclusive (Imperial Stout) which were beyond awesome.

I do recommend this brewery to anyone who loves...

My new favorite brewery by far!!!

The attention to detail is nothing short of amazing. From the 10 ton bar made from reclaimed I beams, to the Stanley Works screwdriver tap handles they really nailed the industrial nature that is New Britain, CT.

The owners clearly did their homework and went the extra mile to make their tap room not only comfortable, but functional. They took great care to incorporate the beehive theme through out with the honeycomb light fixture and flight boards, and their logo really ties the whole theme together (the bee hive with a pint glass door is nothing short of brilliant). On top of that there is plenty of places to set a beer down while you you fill your tummy with some delicious Bugnacki kielbasa, yummy soft pretzels, or one of the many food trucks that pays them a visit, or even while you relieve yourself in the bathroom (a simple but very nice feature).

Overall not only do they brew some delicious beer and regularly offer guest taps and cider, but they have an awesome location and tap room filled with lots of seating and games. I will be spending alot of time here for sure and would definitely recommend it to...

Alvarium Brewery has quickly become one of our favorite spots! The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, friendly vibe that makes you feel right at home. The staff is incredibly welcoming, and their passion for great beer and great service shines through.

The beer? Absolutely delicious! Whether you're into hoppy IPAs, smooth stouts, or creative experimental brews, Alvarium has something for everyone. Every sip is a testament to their craft. We loved exploring the variety of flavors, and each one was better than the last.

The atmosphere is fun, inviting, and perfect for catching up with friends or just unwinding after a long day. It’s a place that encourages connection, laughter, and appreciation for the amazing things they’re brewing.

Alvarium Brewery isn’t just a brewery; it’s an experience. If you’re looking for delicious beer, a friendly team, and a fantastic vibe, this is the place to be. We can’t wait to go back and try more of what they...

Cool brewery that is much bigger & busier than we expected, which is fantastic for them!! We weren't aware, until we walked in, that they allow dogs inside, as long as they behave (no barking etc). Would suck if you were allergic & just showed up like we did. They also had a bunch of board games you could play, which was fun. They offer beer flights. There were a lot of sours on the menu if that's your thing. Had a sample of the Apple Cranberry Crumble Sour - was sour forward, but you could definitely taste the cranberry. Tasty, but couldn't see drinking a whole pint. Went with the Cremo Ale, which was, I would say, their mildest brew. It was not very memorable to the point I don't recall what it tasted like. My friend had the phresh, which is a NEIPA, which he liked enough to get a second. I wasn't crazy about the selections this time, but we will go back to try again.
