Growing up in home with a dominican mom and traditions, i was fortunate to eat some of the best food in the world. I guess i'm being bias but those that have eaten dominican food, prepared the right way know how lucky i was. The adverse effect of growing up is you move out and have to try to cook these like your parents would only to fall short. Thank god for Sabroso. They are legit as close as it get to her cooking when it comes to the soup, or the mangu with queso frito, or even the bistec enscebollado (when i used to eat meat). The rice is always cooked right, and if you have any personal complaints about preparation the staff is always so friendly and immediately prepare it to your liking. Read moreI went there w/ a friend for lunch to try out a different Caribbean food restaurant. He had a typical Dominican plate of carne guisado and i had the chibo. The food not only smelled bad it it tasted horrible. in addition to that, the portion of meat that they give you is just enough to maybe fill up a small child not a grown adult. they follow that up w/ more rice than you could even eat. we got the food to go. went to our office to eat. and when we opened the container.... what a surprise to see the little food we had. not to mention how we felt victimized by the disgusting taste. what a waste of time and money.
STAY AWAY!!!
the ONLY good carribean food in new brunswick is Carribean Cafe.
i hope my review saves you...
