B & M Quality Delicatessen — Restaurant in New Haven

I called in my order to the b&m today and placed an order for 2 sandwiches and ended up grabbing 2 ice teas and 2 foxon parks for me and my father. because we were grabbing lunch in the middle of the work day. alright, so listen i ordered a ham sub my father got a pastrami sub I go in their with 30 dollars grab the drinks the total came out too $52 and change and that’s no problem if the food is quality you know. So I ended up going back outside grabbed 52 dollars gave it to the dude and he said your good on the change. But I gave him the quarter in my back pocket and even let him keep the rest you know no big deal until it was. My ham sub was supposed to have ham, provolone, pickles, banana peppers, lettuce, onion, mustard, salt and pepper right I open it up it had a total of 4 pickles a little bit of lettuce a damn half pound of low quality ham and I couldn’t even taste the provolone cause the mayo I didn’t ask for was smeered all over the top of it. I mean I can understand mistakes but they missed 6 out of the 8 toppings I asked for my dads sandwich was the same mess an I asked for the toppings very clearly even reiterated it on the phone this guy wrote them down over the phone TOO their was no miscommunication BUT SOME HOW THEY miscommunicated the 6 out of the 8 toppings I wanted on my sandwich and they are putting stuff I don’t wanna eat on my sandwich too I mean I didn’t even get the salt n pepper all it takes is a few shakes I mean the photo speaks for itself these people don’t know the chemistry of a sandwich and this place will be going out of business if they don’t tighten it up B&M ISN’T WHAT IT USED TO BE these new owners better figure...

I have to say for a 12$ steak and cheese sub they are filled with meat and you will get full. They use top quality meats and build well portioned, delicious sandwiches. There is a variety to choose from. My family and I have been customers for over 30yrs now. the fire devastated the community because everyone in Fair Haven knows B&M has the best subs in CT! They have remodeled the store and still, the sandwiches Still exceed expectations! Its a family owned business I remember when the The owner Bobbys father use to be there. This establishment has been here in Fair Haven for 46yrs. I’ve been loving these subs since I was a kid! I have eaten from many many different places and even tried some of the most infamous Philly Cheese steaks… Philly don’t got nothing on B&M Delicatessen, I have to say…as a traveler, any time I come home to visit I must stop and get either a steak and cheese or the pastrami with mustard!!...

I’ve been a loyal customer of this deli for years, always raving about their steak and cheese—hands down the best around. However, after my recent visit under the new ownership, I’m deeply disappointed. The quality has taken a major hit while the prices stayed the same. The steak and cheese I ordered today had half the amount of steak it used to, and they used a different, lesser-quality steak. The bread was different too—smaller and not nearly as good. They shouldn’t be charging $20 for a sandwich that’s half the quality of the old B and M. I have no problem paying for a quality sandwich, but this is nowhere near what it used to be. If you’re hoping for the great steak sandwich you used to get years ago, you won’t find it here. Sadly, this is my last visit unless this place...
