Chen's Kitchen — Restaurant in New Haven

Loved having dinner delivered when I lived on Alden Avenue... my (then 4-yo) son & I craved their shrimp toast, cold sesame noodles & General Tso's chicken and had it delivered on a regular basis from Chen's Kitchen for YEARS. Fast forward... we moved to Texas to follow my job. Yeah, they do General Tso's okay enough, but never with broccoli on the side like Chen's Kitchen does (and it's GREAT broccoli... plumb, brilliant green, steamed perfectly!). And Texas' cold sesame noodles and shrimp toast? Ha! Never. Not once in almost 22 years did I find either dish on a Chinese/Asian restaurant menu in Central Texas. Ask for it? I did. Often. They'd just shake their heads and tell me no one does such a prep.

Two days after moving back from Texas, son (now 28-yo) and I order & pick-up dinner from Chen's Kitchen. OMG! It is just as good as it ever was! The staff was great in taking our order, the food was fresh and HOT, the prep was wonderful and my part of the dinner lasted for two more meals. Ahhhh, it's good to be...

Absolute WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. i am disgusted by how i was treated by the "owner" lady on the phone who not only was completely disrespectful to me , she managed to answer 6 calls while never putting me on hold one time. All the while i got sent the COMPLETE WRONG DISH and just wanted the right one i was very respectful to this woman until she said "well thats what i do at my restaurant , if you no like it you no call here" HOW UNPROFESSIONAL!!! $14 and some change for an overall bland chicken in garlic sauce dinner combination. The egg rolls were so tiny and barely had any filling.
