Italian Pie Shoppe — Restaurant in New Hope

Hidden gem. You might assume this place is not worth your time because it's in a bowling alley, but quite the contrary. This place has the best pizza in town! The crust on the deep dish is perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The sauce is delicious. They're generous with the cheese and toppings. The buffalo chicken pizza is one of my favorites. Other places ruin theirs by putting ranch dressing or tomatoes or other such nonsense on it. The Italian Pie Shoppe keeps it simple; buffalo sauce, chicken, cheese. Perfect. And they're not skimpy with the buffalo sauce, it's just the right amount. The chicken strips basket is a great value with huge, meaty chicken strips and tons of fries. I have had their pizza a few times, over the past year. It had mostly been when I got home from work, a family member brought home a veggie style pizza. What I like was how this pizza tastes really fresh, either right from the oven, or a few hours later. Of course it helps that this pizza was made from scratch, with the ability to customize it if I so choose. Who knew a veggie pizza would taste so good. Especially the toppings seemed to melt in my mouth, and the crust was worth every bite. It would be so good to have it again as a late evening snack, or to maybe dine-in again sometime, as it had been a few years. This is truly a gem worth checking out. Friendly staff serving with a smile. Great vibe with the bowling alley attached. Though the restaurant is very outdated, it's expected at an old bowling alley.

I got a medium deep dish pizza. VERY filling, though it seemed less a deep dish and more Detroit style. The crust was the downfall as it was not as soft and airy as I'd like. Great cheese and I had no issues with toppings. The sauce is on the sweeter side, but savory as well.

Although the pizza maybe wasn't award-winning (and a bit pricey), I was fat and happy at the end of the day. I wouldn't go out of my way for this pizza, but I would definitely be excited to order from here if I ever decide to knock...
