We tried the Korean barbecue. I was so excited to hear that there was a restaurant in the Acadiana region that had Korean barbecue. However I was disappointed. We got to select at least three meats. We chose the beef short ribs and shrimp. They gave you a lot of meat so the portions were big. However, the meat was unseasoned and was not marinated. Korean barbecue meat is supposed to be marinated. We thought we could use the sauces they provided us but they wouldn’t let us because they said it would stick to grill. This means that the grill was not season either.
If they marinated the meat and were able to get the recipe down, I think they would do well because they have the right equipment to have Korean barbecue. However I am very disappointed because like I said it was just raw meat no seasonings no marination not even salt. And to top it off we had to pay $70. It did come with sides like seaweed salad rice and assorted pickled veggies. It also came with mushrooms and zucchini. However on the positive side, our waitress was very attentive and very nice. I hope they do better...
Read moreI recently dined at The Pearl House and had a mixed experience. I must say, the sushi was a bit overrated. The portions were surprisingly small, and pricey. On a brighter note, the Mongolian beef was a standout dish—well-cooked and packed with flavor, it was definitely a highlight of the meal.
The Beetlejuice cocktail was another winner—it was potent and added a fun twist to the evening. I also enjoyed the fried shrimp; they were absolutely delicious and perfectly crispy. However, I found the fried rice to be lacking in flavor, which was disappointing.
Unfortunately, the service didn’t meet expectations either. It felt a bit inattentive, which detracted from the overall experience. While there were some tasty dishes, I left feeling that The Pearl House could improve in both its offerings and service. Overall, it was a decent dining experience, but I...
Read moreI wanted a few sushi rolls but the ones I usually get were all over $10. Most places in Lafayette have them for $5-7.00. I asked for coconut chicken but was given shrimp. The order came w/a pork egg roll & rice. We don't eat pork so I asked for the vegetable spring roll & she said they couldn't do that. Both rolls are the same price but they don't substitute anything at this place. The fried rice was gross and it just had egg w/o any vegetables. The rice noodles were good which made my kids happy. The price for our meal was fair but I think its crazy that they don't substitutes anything or the fact that the rolls cost twice as much as those...
