This is the first negative review I've ever left for any restaurant. Came in with a party of 11 at about 8:30pm last night... Saturday night. There was about 5 customers total when we walked in. The two waitresses looked shocked that we had so many people and just stood and looked at us for a few minutes before approaching us. I think they thought if they just ignored us, we would go away.
We sat down after about 10 minutes and a few minutes later they came to take our orders. One of them asked if we needed kids menus which we did. She walked away and came back about 5 minutes later without the kids menus and asked us if we were ready to order like nothing happened. So she had to go back and get them. Both were actually very nice, so no complaints there. However, about 20 minutes after ordering we started seeing our food being put up under the warmer by the cook so we figured it would be out within a few minutes. About 10 minutes after that we noticed the two waitresses take all the food down off the warmer for some reason and put them on a table under the warmer. About that time, we heard the cook asking about nachos which he apparently didn't know we ordered so he started making those then. So, instead of bringing us the food that was actually done and telling the people who didn't get their food it would be out soon... one of the girls came over and asked one of us what we ordered again and never brought any food out. So the finished meals literally sat there unwarmed for at least another 30 minutes until the nachos were done. The whole time both of them never checked in with us other than that, never told us a reason why we were waiting, and were preoccupied with the cash register not even paying attention to anything in the kitchen.
Finally, after the food was fully cold and fossilized, they brought it out. Except the spaghetti and meatballs that my mother ordered. They forgot about that of course. So while we were all eating cold food an hour after we ordered it, the cook made my mother's dinner and it came out after we were all done and ready to hit the road again.
My nachos were missing ingredients and half the size they always are, on top of being freezing. My 10 year old daughter couldn't even eat her tenders because they were overcooked and then sat until they turned into cold cement. They were basically display models of chicken tenders.
Worst restaurant experience I've ever had. And I've been to Denny's hundreds of times in my life. They were understaffed, one cook, and definitely no manager in the building. If there was.. they shouldn't be managing a hot dog stand let alone a Denny's. Understaffed or not, including us, there was about 15 people in the entire restaurant.
Horrible. Maybe you'll get lucky if you come here at peak hours when there's more people working, but I wouldn't...
Read moreOur servers name was Will and he’s the only reason we dined here. There’s limited meal options off the exit as we’re on a road trip and we try to avoid fast food if we can. We know it’s a truck stop Denny’s; but we did expect a little better. Everything was sticky, several food options we asked for were unavailable due to management being on vacation and no one placing supply orders, and everything was unclean. We stood at the “please wait to be seated” sign for about four minutes while several staff members looked and glanced at us but no one spoke to us. There were only four other tables of guests so the restaurant was pretty empty. It was a bit unnerving but we have kids and we’d already piled in so we did our best to see it through. A server did finally approach but just to say “if you want to sit it’s a thirty minute wait or longer” and that was it. It was very unwelcoming and awkward. We sat down though and asked for a high chair but this woman just yelled at Will to do it and left us there. After we sat about ten minutes Will came and asked if anyone had gotten us drinks to which we responded they haven’t. He ended up taking care of us from that point on which I don’t think was the original seating arrangement as his other tables were across the restaurant lobby. Regardless he was very friendly, very kind to our kids and knew the menu well enough to answer our questions. We saw him playing with another toddler having a rough time and gave him a toy from the counter. Honestly he was a very well raised kid who did redeem our night. Our food was tasty although the portions were very much smaller than we anticipated which may have had to do with the limited food options and supply. We don’t live near a Denny’s and I doubt we’ll be back to this one but we filled our stomachs, the food was tasty and our server was delightful so we’re thankful. We should also mention that Tiffany did smile at our baby and cashed us out with a smile. The young crowd in there seems very nice! The older servers, not...
Read moreUpdate: The next day after I made the review below, I got a call from Nate (the manager of this Denny's). He said he saw my review and told me how disappointed he was that I wasn't completely happy with my visit. He wanted to know what he could do to make me feel better, suggesting that he could refund what I paid for the garlic toast. I told him I was very impressed that he called me, and I'd be grateful for a refund. I checked today, and he have me the refund as promised, so I'm raising my review score. I've left a lot of reviews on here, and this is the first time I've ever been called back about one. I'm really impressed, because I didn't complain at the restaurant, only here. It's nice that someone is really trying that hard to do a good job. Thank you, Nate.
While passing through the area I stopped here for lunch. I placed my order online, then went in to pick it up. I was greeted almost immediately by one of the servers, who told me they were still working on putting my order together. A couple minutes later a guy came out and told me they didn't have the usual bread they make the garlic bread from, and asked me if I'd like some other type of bread made into garlic bread. We discussed it andI settled on white bread. My order came a few minutes later and I left with it. Included in my order was one slice of white bread with garlic and butter on one side, for which I was changed $2.69. For 23¢ more I could have bought a while loaf of Wonder Bread at Walmart, so it seemed like I was overcharged. The Mama's Fried Chicken House salad I got was okay, although the cherry tomatoes on the salad were a little wilted. This experience...
