Recently stopped by on my way from Upstate New York down to Philly. I've been here before [I always call it the Gibson McDonald's] and knew that I should expect so-so service [it isn't McDonald's most busy location] and that, in itself, is okay. Stopping by a fast food place on a small road trip is like a twice-a-year treat to myself.
I was first greeted by a sign that the lobby was closed. Okay... could be anything; probably didn't need to sit and eat. I can eat in the car.
In the drive-thru I was greeted with a full page paper sign about being short staffed because no one wants to work. Short staffed... okay, that happens. No sign other than, "We are currently short staffed. We greatly appreciate your patience." was needed. I mean, the place is in the middle of no where and finding people who will shoulder all the expenses of the commute for mediocre pay and questionable benefits is probably difficult on a good day. So, fine... short staffed.
I pay and I get asked to pull up to a parking space. Okay... that's definitely a McDonalds thing. My food does come out so no biggie.
The fries are clearly not completely fresh and heavily over salted--I wouod say half were quite old and the other half recently cooked. They were a hot and cold crispy and soggy mess. The burger tasted like nothing as I assume they used all the salt they had on the fries or perhaps my tongue was so salted out that I couldn't taste the burger. The drink was wrong... although, to be honest, that could have been my fault. I had to toss the fries and the burger in the trash. I would have kept the fries to toss to some birds... but I was actually concerned that the gross amount of salt would...
Read moreJust before the latest pandemic fad forced all of us to what obama first coined the term "The new normal", (I call it 3rd world nation status) this McD was doing excellent customer satisfaction. Enough to keep me & a buddy as steady customers. (and a big change from 7 years ago) Thanks to gov wolf, we can no longer enjoy dining inside, limiting our stopovers. I do spin by the drivethru when alone and while the service is still very good, I missed the Ronald McDonald House donation box. Guess what, they do have a box we can still donate to outside but you have to be aware where it is to see it. It's right below the first drive up window. Kind of hidden as you drive up because of the big yellow post you really want to keep your eye on. lol. Asked to move forward for my order I happen to look back and spotted it. After my order came out, I drove back around to drop a dollar & change into it. Be careful with paper money. I had to ask an attendant at a different McD's to push the bill down. For years I enjoyed being a small part in helping others through the RMH. And just last year I found out a good friend's family member needed the help and received it. Way to go McDonald's. It's a great way to be a small part of something big. And thank you McDonalds for being a...
Read moreAbsolute WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! We love McDonalds but this place is awful. We drove right up to the order box and waited 15 minutes while a person kept saying we would have to wait. When we got to the window (remember we are the only car there, no one is in front of us) they made us wait another 15 minutes at the window. Then they got our order wrong but I noticed before we drove away. They said I had to wait in the parking lot. I was like “you’re kidding right?” We waited in the parking lot again and I knew in my heart of hearts they had enough time to get it ready but they were never going to show up so I went inside and asked about my order and it was sitting on a shelf. I CANNOT BELIEVE I HAD TO WAIT NOW THE 3RD TIME. UNBELIEVABLE! I never write negative reviews, this is my first time. What a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. If the crew are that busy then your owners need to hire more people. There is no excuse for such deplorable service. Another recommendation is to find out how Chic fil a do theirs in such record time and the lines I have waited have been very long but so timely. There was no one in front of me, I am still in shock at that one. I recommend go to any other McDonalds but this one. It was the worst service I have ever experienced in...
