Chickie Wah Wah — Restaurant in New Orleans

Enjoyed Chickie Wah Wah in New Orleans for the 1st time during my day weekend in April while seeing the legendary Keith Frank & the Soileau Zydeco Band! There was a slight issue at the entrance regarding our 3rd-party tickets (only $25 btw!!) But the staff was understanding and accepted our email receipt then immediately permitted entry. It was a bit warmer than expected once the dancing started but I had a mini personal fan that helped to keep the party going! I'm reticent to review Chickie Wah Wah because it's so amazing that I want to keep it all to myself. But alas, I'm a giver, and will share the perfection that is Chickie. Dale has created the perfect atmosphere of a laid back neighborhood bar with a small stage with killer sound and good lights. There's ample seating, the bathrooms are spotless, there's tables outside to smoke and chat, the acts are world reknowned, and the bar is well stocked. Unfortunate set tonight at Chickie Wah Wah. Fifty dollars admission for two, for a falsely advertised, ego-driven, contrived, abomination. Poor musicianship and mixing, peppered with disgusting impersonations, and discriminatory and racist jokes. The mids coming from the amps were actually painfully bad. And $15 for a rail sazerac with a day old lemon twist is disgusting. There was grime on the toilets, the stall doors, and up the bathroom walls. Worst experience I've had in this...
